Re: I'm curious, quick poll
Not true. Never happened.
Miami is my vote. Or maybe 2nd Michigan. What would be different now if we 2-0 against them?

Wake Forest.... My ex-wife went there and I haven't heard the end of it... Hate that place.

Re: I'm curious, quick poll
I pain from all the losses as I saw them all whether in attendance or TV. But forced to one pick I will go with Tennessee due to they were built up ahead of 2015 and an SEC team with the super huge stadium and atmosphere. I was there sweating bullets on that muggy day and yelled my lungs out feeling like in a marathon front and center of the camera man.
Biggest disappointment was the trip to Doom and Gloom Blacksburg against VaTech.....not just because we got slaughtered necessarily but that is one very eery campus and easy to lose direction due to topography and layout.... everything looks the same.....the VaTech people were weird and distant seeming like zombies. Plus got caught in heavy hail storm. The only enjoyment in that trip was booking through the Yosef Club the hotel among many Yosef members and the team stayed there as well.
Was at the game the last time we beat Wake Forest.

Sorry, you were just dreaming, that game never happened. I and many here have had the same nightmare.

They all sting.
Recency bias says Penn State as it would have been a big statement, but probably Georgia. Knock Eason out, dominate a handful of NFL day 1 picks..... Fromm goes on and takes them to relevance.....

Re: I'm curious, quick poll
I was at all 3 games and they all 3 hurt badly for different reasons...
-Tennessee hurt because their fans talked so much trash and they were just NOT a good team.
-Wake Forrest hurt because I thought we had them beat and missed a chip shot kick.
-Penn State hurt because I thought we executed the perfect game plan and out played them for 4 quarters.
If I had to pick one I would probably say Penn State because it was the biggest national stage.

Re: I'm curious, quick poll
I have a list of games that make me sad over these last few years. Hard to pick a #1, honestly I'd go with Wake because we were at home, and expected to win.
The others we were "supposed to lose" but gave them a scare. Still hurts.

Penn State.
Before I answered, I considered if proximity was affecting my opinion on the matter. Saturday's outcome still stings. Wake is a close second for a number of factor: Protecting The Rock, Wake is a historic rival; fan base overlap, ACC condescension, we had them beat most of the game . . .
I settle on Penn State because of the impact that win could have had on the future of App State football. Another top 10 B1G team goes down to the Sept. 1 giant killers. Michigan ceases to be a fluke one game miracle, but now there's a trend and multiple games to build on. The season will bear it out, but I believe this Penn State team is better than the 2007 Michigan team, significantly better than the 2016 Tennessee team and would crush the 2017 Wake team to dust. I know it's been said several times over, but I personally believe there is a real possibility that both App State and Penn State finish out 2018 with only 1 or 2 losses, which would've made a win on Saturday the biggest win in school history.
Would've could've should've . . . no more. It's time to focus on a beat down in Charlotte!

Wake game. Historic rivalry and at home. It sucked a lot of life out of me, the stadium and the team last year. Penn State would have been a game changer as far as national stage but Wake game just plain hurt to lose.

Re: I'm curious, quick poll
That's a good point. I still feel like we should have won Saturday, but more because we were in position to win in the last minute and couldn't close them out. Not quite the same as losing to UT and Wake simply because our kicking game was inept.canes_mj wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 9:39 pmTennessee, because I was there. I was at Wake too, but that atmosphere at Neyland was a bigger deal...., a big time road win in the opening game of college football on primetime tv, vs a team from the premier football conference in America....ahh what could have been. The other reason I pick Tenn is I feel that our mistakes cost us that one, as opposed to Penn St where they just made plays when it counted.

Re: I'm curious, quick poll
I think we're all saying the same thing...we walked out of Penn State feeling good about things. We walked out of the Tenn and Wake games frustrated knowing we let one (...or two) get away.
If forced to pick a win, its Penn State!
