Re: Spring Practice Update
Scarey how thin we are at LB. It's been a long time since that's been the case.

Re: Spring Practice Update
Guys, don't forget that SP is rumored to be switching his number to 10 this year.

Re: Spring Practice Update
any insight on what the starting defense looks like right now on day 1?app2016 wrote:Practice went well today. I really liked Davidson's game speed and ability to get through the holes. woody's defense is also coming along nicely. Sean Price is practicing this week.

Re: Spring Practice Update
Just read the Rivals write up on spring practice. I had seen it mentioned in another thread that we could be missing a starting player and the article backed that up saying Lott is suspended indefinitely for violation of team rules and his long term status is up in the air.
2nd suspension in less than a year for this one

Re: Spring Practice Update
shame about Lott, I though last year after he got in the starting lineup and played well, that maybe he had matured, and his troubles were behind him, oh well.

Re: Spring Practice Update
Losing Lott does hurt but I'd rather have players that aren't a distraction around. Yes, Lott is very talented but his continued off the field issues are a huge downside to him. Read in the practice article that Middleton was back at it again with two picks. Satterfield seems to be making a statement to his players on this Lott situation though. Thoughts?

I agree we don't need any more off the field stories, we were on a slippery slope a couple years ago.

I agree that Satt is going to be making a statement. You mess up, you're going to pay. hopefully that message gets across loud and clear. it really is a good way to start of the new era of App football with something that shows that things are going to be changingGoapps15 wrote:Losing Lott does hurt but I'd rather have players that aren't a distraction around. Re: Spring Practice Update
I doubt that there was any actual intent to challenge the new coach, but it always seems to work out this way. I also don't think Satterfield set out to set an example, but I don't think he has a choice. New coach HAS to make an example when challenged (intentionally or not) and it looks like that's exactly what's happening. I'm sorry to hear about this. Lott is an excellent athlete. I just wish these kids would figure out that testing these rules is a bad idea and can be very costly.mtnjax wrote:I agree that Satt is going to be making a statement. Re: Spring Practice Update
Was told Lott twice tested positive for a banned substance. Same reason Dufort may be done. Kaylan Jones' injury must have been too much to overcome, he and Matt Privette are no longer on roster.

Re: Spring Practice Update
Jones and Privette are both still in school. I was hoping that they would be able to come back from their injuries but it doesn't appear so. I remember reading on Rivals a couple of months ago a post from Jones' mom (or dad) saying he was doing better and planning to come back. Shame for both of them as they both looked like they could help us this year. Two more OL's of the roster. Some guys are going to have to step up or we won't be redshirting many this year. I'll bet DL is hitting his knees every night hoping the injury bug doesn't hit again.Kgfish wrote:Was told Lott twice tested positive for a banned substance. Same reason Dufort may be done. Re: Spring Practice Update
I was thinking that too 3rd. I was remembering the post where Derek Evans dad jumped in about why he left and I knew there was another kid that was involved with a parent saying they were leaving but I couldn't find the post with a quick search. The reason I thought it wasn't Privette was because he is still in school this semester and I thought the parent said the second kid was leaving in December. I'll go back and do a better search for that post.3rd wrote:i may be wrong but i thought privette's parents said he was changing schools bc no one checked on him after his injury?? i may be completely wrong just going off what i thought i rememberfiremoose wrote:Jones and Privette are both still in school. One other thing. Matt Privette's Twitter account is locked and I'm not a follower but his background image and account info still are all about App.
