I sat on the side where the dressing room was, on the top row. That side was quite nearly full, with a scattering on the concession stand side...My guess is 1500-1800.... including the people who were circling the track. Vendors were there with season ticket sales, t shirt sales and there was a Charlotte TV crew interviewing Coach Satt. after the practice.
Great day.......Next week at The Rock will be epic
Then as a few others have said you picked an opportune time for you to take your pictures to defend an indefensible point, as fans were leaving or before all had arrived. I came from Columbia SC as did few others. No pics from you however from the middle of the afternoon when the West stands were nearly full and a stream of fans going from the west side to the concession side and vice versa.......Classy.

Re: Charlotte Scrimmage Roll Call
Im not going to debate how many people were or were not there. I would like to discuss what everyone's opinion of the team was. I was very impressed with Paul Magloire at running back. I thought he was recruited as a QB, but he can definately run the ball. Was it me or was Holloway MIA? I sat on the defense side, and was impressed with the defense also. I believe we are going to field a receiving corp that anyone would be proud of. I just hope we get it to them. Special teams, the kickers looked good, but I was a little disappointed in the punters. I guess we were spoiled by Sam Martin.

Re: Charlotte Scrimmage Roll Call
I left impressed with Magloire and Fergerson at the running back spot. Holloway did not participate, I believe he is a little banged up at the moment.
The wide receiver position is ridiculous. After the top four, McElfresh looked good and Chris Starks also had a nice catch and run. With Dante Jones coming into the mix this season, that should be a stacked unit for years to come.
Most impressive group to me was the DL, they looked very strong. Deuce and Blair looked good on the edge, as did Dada and Hall. Milhouse and Small had nice games as well, some real nice depth there.

Re: Charlotte Scrimmage Roll Call
The WR corp is possibly the most talented unit for any position I've ever seen at App. Take all of those mentioned, add in Tony Washington who was sitting out, and now were talking about being 5 or 6 deep. I'd put that group up against most FBS teams. The best part is only two of them are upper classmen.

Re: Charlotte Scrimmage Roll Call
Glad to hear the running backs look solid. If the O-Line can do a solid job then our offense is in business. Good QB play, good TE's and an excellent WR corp.
I am also interested for those of you who were there, who played LB (inside and outside)?
Hearing good things about the Defensive Line is excellent news because it makes our secondary that much more lethal. If opposing Qb's are having to throw more 50-50 balls then it can give our guys more chance for interceptions and turning the opposing offense over. I am really excited for this Saturday at the Rock.

Re: Charlotte Scrimmage Roll Call
The 1st team LBs I saw were Frazier, McGowan, Ward, Blalock. 2nd team, the only ones I can remember were Shaffer and Hall on the outside. Couldn't tell you who was on the inside. John Law was sitting out, so I think he will actually get the 1st team reps when healthy. He's a big dude. A lot like Kimbrough, just a bit taller. Recruiting depth at the LB position will be a big emphasis net year I think. Maybe we can grab 1 or 2 more when we start upping the schollies this yearGoapps15 wrote: I am also interested for those of you who were there, who played LB (inside and outside)?

The secondary looked to have a few good plays thanks to rushed throws caused by the D-Line. no picks while I was there, but a lot of batted passes (d-line knocked down some too)

Re: Charlotte Scrimmage Roll Call
Have been told Holloway has a serious health issue that may hinder his playing career. Paul is a big powerful runner, but I'll be interested to see what impact these incoming freshmen make. Looks like Blaylock has found a home at OLB. The guy was simply out of position at safety. Asking a guy that played LB in a conference full of slow white guys to play safety in D-I college football is tough. Bet it took Woody about 30 seconds watching tape to figure that out.ASUchipman wrote:Im not going to debate how many people were or were not there. With Anderson deciding to come back I'm a little more at ease with the LB depth. Satterfield must have done a heck of a sale job on him.mtnjax wrote:The 1st team LBs I saw were Frazier, McGowan, Ward, Blalock. 2nd team, the only ones I can remember were Shaffer and Hall on the outside. Re: Charlotte Scrimmage Roll Call
I have a friend who's a UNC alum (don't judge) and picked this up off of Facebook. Check out the fan turnout for UNC's official spring game held on Saturday:

Good seats still available!

Need to take plenty of pictures Saturday and post on their site. Also need someone who can't make it to Boone infiltrate their game and snap a few pictures of the crowd.

Re: Charlotte Scrimmage Roll Call
I was just surprised to see such a small turnout from a program like UNC. South Carolina had 35K at their Spring Game yesterday.

I kinda know a photographer at ASU so I will see if he can forward me a few pictures to place on here that may show us a few different shots of the crowd!Kgfish wrote:Here is a picture of warm-ups before the scrimmage got underway. It doesn't show those on track near the locker room end of the stadium.
