Breakout player predictions? Picks for each side of the ball.
Breakout player predictions? Pick one for each side of the ball.
I’m going with
Offense: RB Nate Noel #20
Defense: DB Steven Jones #12
Both are primed to shine. Go Apps!

Anyone else have a player on either side of the ball who they think is primed to shine this year?

Agree on Stephen Jones, also expecting an even bigger year for Big Jordan Earle!Appstate88 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 1:55 pmAnyone else have a player on either side of the ball who they think is primed to shine this year?
Not really a breakout as we know he’s a stud, but Corey Sutton is going to DOMINATE. Virgil is going to have a bounce back big year too!

I like your thoughts on these “ready to make a statement” players.appstate24 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 2:10 pmAgree on Stephen Jones, also expecting an even bigger year for Big Jordan Earle!Appstate88 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 1:55 pmAnyone else have a player on either side of the ball who they think is primed to shine this year?

That’s another awesome pick. He certainly has a bunch of sure handed receivers to throw to. It would be great for him or Jacob Huesman to be on a SBC all conference team at the end of the year

Offense Jamir Smith
Defense A lot of solid depth so it could be any number of guys. But I will go with Jalen McLeod.

I am going to go with Christian Horn on offense assuming he can get enough reps with all we have coming back on offense. I have heard Coach Clark mention him several times so their must be something to it. On defense I think Jordan Earle will heave a break out year. He was good last year but I think he is going to step it up this year and he provides alot of juice to the defense. Would be nice if a couple of the young offensive linemen (perhaps Lindsay or Powers) could work their way into the rotation by the middle of the year.

Good picks 94. Jahmir Smith could be a huge impact player at RB if he comes in ready to play. Plays with speed and power. A 225-230 Ramrod that is not afraid of lowering the shoulder pads. McLeod is another solid choice LB. He is certainly primed and ready to shine as well when he is on the field.

Speaking of big backs, have you seen the updated roster? Cam is up to 220 now.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 6:02 pmGood picks 94. Re: Breakout player predictions? Picks for each side of the ball.
Wow have we ever had backs like this? We have certainly had some great ones but typically in the 5’10”- 185 lb range. Now we can go with 2 guys over 6’ and close to 220. We also have the smaller tough dudes for change of pace. LoadedAppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 6:48 amSpeaking of big backs, have you seen the updated roster? Really comes down to Brice we have never been this deep at the skill positions on offense.
I hope the defensive breakout player is a DL guy.

Good ones Navy. McLeod is ready. Pickney will shine if he can break into the WR rotation.

Another good pick 83. Horn knows what to do to get open and got meaningful reps last year. Wells and Davis are ready too.app83 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 5:43 pmI am going to go with Christian Horn on offense assuming he can get enough reps with all we have coming back on offense. Agree Saint. Brice or Huesman need to focus on quick, accurate and strong throws to the playmakers. They say Brice can spin it. Jacob has that App State QB moxie and legs to run.

I like your ideas here 5. The film on Head says he hits like a hammer and can defend the 50-50 ball. Hope he comes in ready to battle this Fall.
Tucker is ready to shine. Get him the ball in space and watch him go.
