RIP
Feel bad for the backlash this guy is going to receive on the board for his ties to UNC.

I have three degrees from ASU, yet an important part of my graduate work was done at the UNC School of Law. Let 'em pick on me. I can handle it. My loyalties are not one bit in question, but I do know my way around Franklin St. I still bleed Black & Gold and drive a Gold car.

There won't be any, for you or for Mr. Holshouser.asu66 wrote:IGgreer wrote:RIP

Gov. Holshouser was commencement speaker during my graduation 1977 or it was 1982 grad school graduation; can't remember.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Re: RIP: Boone native Jim Holshouser
His wife Pat was my 6th grade teacher. Other than when Mr. Holshouser was elected governor, I didn't hear anything else about them. However, when I graduated from Watauga High (1974) I received a letter from Ms. Holshouser congratulating me on that accomplishment. She wrote a letter to all her students she had taught in 1967-68. Anyway, I always appreciated the fact that she never forgot her students from that class.
