Re: POST GAME -
The play that used People’s as the decoy up the middle and Brice getting the first down was brilliant.

Don't look now folks but WV and I agree on the constructive criticism and praising of the coaches.

Glad you choose not to be part of the corruption of the Dark Side
As you know, I have no problem discussing strategy or play-calls - that's part of the fan experience
Don't believe you have done either, but you also know I will not let personal attacks on our guys for their play on the field go without severe push back, nor the stupidity of firing coaches ---
Thank you -

Others can chime in - last year some of the mullets showed up at our bowl game talking shit to players and fans. Some App fans went on social media and reported mullet teddy using foul language to kids, mullet teddy’s daddy started threatening law suits because his baby would never do such a thing.

Personally I thought the fumble was a bad idea, so yeah, I would do that differently.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 10:20 amOK guys - here is the play sequence that ended the first half - Here's your chance to say what you would do differently -
1. Time 2:14 - Ball on our own 14 - 1st-10 ---Pass to Malik for 7 yards
2. - Ball on 21 - 2nd and 3 --- Harrington rush for 5 yds - 1ST DOWN - CLOCKED STOPPED
3. - Ball on 26 - 1st and 10 --- Pass to Malik for 3 yds
4. - Ball on 29 - 2nd and 7 --- Pass to Malik for 2 yds
5. - Ball on 31 - 3rd and 5 --- Harrington run for 5 yds - IST DOWN - CLOCKED STOPPED - APP TIME OUT
6. 28 sec - Ball on 36 - 1st and 10 --- Brice runs for 8 yds to 44 yd line - APP TIME OUT
7. 22 sec - Ball on our own 44 - pass to Corey --- fumble --- 11 seconds left

Re: POST GAME -
The problem I had with the play calling at the end of the half was that it was noncommittal. It was neither aggressive nor reserved. If you’re gonna throw the ball and try to move it downfield, then do that. Don’t throw passes if you aren’t really going hard for a score. Don’t throw the ball period if you aren’t going for the score - just run it up the gut and end the half with the least risk possible (knowing turnovers can happen on run plays, too).
It just seemed to me we took unnecessary risks with no chance of return, based on the plays called and it came back to bite us. Some may disagree, I really don’t care either way. Just giving my opinion.

Re: POST GAME -
I do believe they were non-committal because they wanted to see what developed. A nice gain or two would have changed the approach but you can't get reckless with play calling on that part of the field. As I agreed with Saint I didn't like the two short passes. I think Coastal mismanaged those last couple of minutes and luckily still came away with 3

Couldn't the staff have been looking to throw longer but receivers not open or not on correct route.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 9:20 pmI do believe they were non-committal because they wanted to see what developed. Yes - my guess is that our staff figured CC would be in more of a Prevent Defense so they most likely thought the short passes would be open and safer -NewApp wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 9:02 amCouldn't the staff have been looking to throw longer but receivers not open or not on correct route.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 9:20 pmI do believe they were non-committal because they wanted to see what developed. Wouldn't that mean you should have two plays called to audible based upon defensive alignment

Re: POST GAME -
Good question - In my opinion - not really - we had plenty of time and 3 TOs - no need to hurry where we were on the field - call your plays, see what happens ---

Re: POST GAME -
I would like to see us leak out the running backs for passes after they see the line is secure. Our Offensive line rarely lets anyone thru....as soon as our running back see that the line is secure I wish they would get into the passing patterns. Our running backs in the open field are dangerous.

Re: POST GAME -
This post was puzzling. How did it get to be a big rivalry game when we've only played the Chickens a handful of times?MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 5:17 pmSomeone else was watching the game Wednesday, and are chomping at the bit to be a part of it!

James Edwards, QB, Clayton High School: “Loved to see it, because it was a big rivalry game. The defense was on a different level after halftime.

The kid is 17....three years is a long time to him. The last 3 years Coastal has been important. They are our closest conference mate....I think.
