I defended Ponce on this board earlier in the week, but I’m losing a lot of faith watching this game. You KNOW you have to control the clock and you KNOW their defense isn’t very good, yet the offensive play calling seems obsessed with “balance.” Just run the dadgum ball a hundred times!

It’s not over but you couldn’t have started the half in a worse way.

I know alot of the old guard fans are loving this. They are just overwhelmed with their love for Shawn no matter the result.

I have bigger dreams for our program.

In 2019 our current seniors were sophomores and juniors with 2-3 conference titles, 2-3 bowl wins and had just come off a 13 win seasons.

Imagine telling them....you will keep all of these players and many will stay an extra year. But the new coach will deliver 0 conference titles, a 2-7 record in games that we are less than a 5 point favorite (beat Coastal by 3, marshall by 1, lost to marshall, coastal, miami, louisiana 3x and WKU) and your first bowl loss.

It just sucks how we have squandered the talent we have.

Go be a fan of those teams then. We have a standard here. We will never reach our goals as a program tolerating this.

They have a great quarterback and an outstanding offensive coordinator that recognizes defenses and what they are trying to do.

They fear no one and it shows.

I'm going to be honest and give my opinion on the last 2 seasons. We have had by far what I think is the most talent the school has ever had. 9-10 win seasons are great but I really feel the talent has been squandered. Not the results I expected, win division, win conference, win bowl. Goals not achieved. Mediocre results with above average talent. I see us lucky to make it back to a bowl next year. Someone please remind me this time next year if I am wrong please.
