Recruiting, 2013
The updated recruiting list is available on the new recruiting page with links to most of our individual players. To find it, go to the Sports tab, scroll the sport you're looking for and then to the appropriate recruiting year. Firemoose and I are managing the site, so check the site often for updates.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Hernando High School in Dade City, Florida - four prospects - Is that where our new coach, former player, "what's his name" was coaching?

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Nope. Mark Ivey coached at Barton Collier High School in the Napels area. I'm guessing our connection at Hernando is a combination of Ivey, Satterfield and DL/LB Thomas Bronson, who is an alumnus.GoApps70 wrote:Hernando High School in Dade City, Florida - four prospects - Is that where our new coach, former player, "what's his name" was coaching?

OL Will Robertson (6-4, 270) of North Rowan in Spencer tells the Salisbury Post that Wofford and App are among his favorites, adding that App would be a great home. “The facilities are nice and I like the area up there,” he was quoted as saying. He also sports a 4.3 GPA.

Agreed....I love to see the kids come in with good heads on the shoulders after all the trouble we've had. Doesn't mean they will stay out of trouble but they have a better chance than others if they are willing to work that hard on school in addition to football.DPASU wrote:4.3 GPA...please more of this!

Jalen Forrest LB 6"1 215lbs East Forsyth High School Winston Salem. A Rivals 2 or 3 recruit star that has drawed interest from several D1 and D1 aa schools with a few offers. He has really liked App from a kid his Pop Warner football coach was a former ASU football player that always talked about ASU and its tradititon, but as he got bigger and better so did the attention from major universitys. Despite numerous invites to summer camps he only chose 3 with App still being his favorite out of all. He also has a 1st cousin on ASU roster that bought the same coaches story and he seems to be enjoying it!

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Thanks for the update bc2app2011. As we get new targets, I'll post them to the original list. I don't plan to compete with Rivals, Scout and ESPN, but rather identify prospects that they don't know about.bc2app2011 wrote:-Click link to view

TE Zach Riggs (6-4, 236) of Mann High School in Greenville, S.C., is still getting some interest from us, according to goupstate.com

Clemson still a possibility for Riggs
By Eric Guimaraes
TE Zach Riggs of J.L. Mann was offered as a grey shirt by Clemson earlier this summer and is keeping that option open. "When I was there for camp in June, they told me about the offer," said Riggs. "It's something I'm definitely considering, especially with the recruiting class they're putting together." Even with the opportunity, he did say he would like other options. "I'm just waiting to see what other offers I'll get," he said. Riggs is getting attention from Clemson, USC, Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Duke and North Carolina among others and would like to attend games at each of these schools. He did not name a leader.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
I would bet that Clemson may be his unspoken leader as of now. His dad, Jim Riggs, played ball for Clemson in the Danny Ford era.AppGrad78 wrote:TE Zach Riggs (6-4, 236) of Mann High School in Greenville, S.C., is still getting some interest from us, according to goupstate.com

Re: Recruiting, 2013
I would like to see us recruit a running back that ways over 200 lbs. Some one who can run between the tackles when needed. After seeing Montana's Moore, I would like a back like that.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Anyone know if/how many potential recruits we had in for the Montana game? Seems to me we should have gotten as many as we could up for that game.

And so would most everybody else...he is a hoss. If there is better at our level, I hope we don't play against him.AppScott89 wrote:I would like to see us recruit a running back that ways over 200 lbs. We parked in the Hardees parking lot and the guy asked if I was a recruit...my dad bursted out laughing from the back seat ("shut up dad")...so apparently that's where we're parking them?Blackangold4 wrote:Anyone know if/how many potential recruits we had in for the Montana game? Re: Recruiting, 2013
GSU has some pretty good backs. I was glad to hear that Monken switched JJ Wilcox over to Safety because they are so thin in the secondary. That dude is a horse. Swope is another solid back too but I have to agree, D. Moore plays possessed! If he's not trying to run you over, he's hurdling you. Him and Kimbrough were going at it all night and that was a fun battle to watch!Black Saturday wrote:And so would most everybody else...he is a hoss.
