Not a FA, but D'Marco Jackson was put on IR yesterday. Will miss the entire season barring an injury settlement with the Saints...

So how does that work? Does an injury settlement void the contract and make him a FA?AppStateNews wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 1:51 pmNot a FA, but D'Marco Jackson was put on IR yesterday. Will miss the entire season barring an injury settlement with the Saints...

Essentially. If they come to a injury settlement, the player can sign anywhere and start playing immediately. It rarely happens and likely won't in this case. D'Marco will be paid his full salary while rehabbing his injury. I am working on trying to figure out what injury it is, but know he had some shoulder issues while here.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 2:02 pmSo how does that work? Just curious, what someone's salary for where he got drafted? Glad he is getting full salary.

He signed a 4 year deal just under 4 million. I believe he also got just under $400k as a signing bonus.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 2:32 pmJust curious, what someone's salary for where he got drafted? Glad he is getting full salary.

Thanks. I agree. Unless it is just so bad that he no longer has value, I can’t see them cutting him loose.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 2:08 pmEssentially. Jalen Virgil made a pretty slick one handed catch at practice here for the Broncos a few days ago. Sadly his best shot to make the team was as a PR/KR and we took a kid out of Samford in the 3rd round that has looked really good in that role. Hoping he gets a shot to showcase his athleticism in the preseason.
Appalachian State, Better than your school since 1899!!!!

He also made an over the shoulder grab of a 50 yarder. 2 steps on the corner.ASUPATCH wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:12 pmJalen Virgil made a pretty slick one handed catch at practice here for the Broncos a few days ago. Well D’Marco on IR, Sutton retired, can’t find any Hennigan news but projected to be cut, Meech will have to play big Friday to stick, Darrynton Evans fighting for 3rd RB slot. Tae Hayes probable with Panthers.

Virgil had a 70 yard TD catch today. I'm betting he at least makes practice squad. You can't teach his speed at his size.
His flaws while here were hands and blocking. His routes aren't quite there yet, but his work ethic is off the charts. Without going in to too many details, our previous WR coach didn't do a great job of coaching routes. Hands and blocking are two things that an NFL caliber coach can teach fairly quickly.

Seems like we have had a few guys make it in the pros who didn't necessarily light up the stat sheet at App. We had a few DB's play a few years and of course some kickers made a few bucks.

Yep, Demetrius McCray had a nice little career and I don't remember his name being mentioned too awful much. Interesting side note: him and Travaris Cadet were roommates freshman year, both with relatively successful NFL careers.

We’ve been a bit snake bit with our guys and injuries. ADG hurt and missed playoffs. DE hurt whole rookie year. DeMarco hurt already this year.

Is that a strength and conditioning issue or just bad luck?Seattleapp wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 11:11 amWe’ve been a bit snake bit with our guys and injuries. ADG hurt and missed playoffs. DE hurt whole rookie year. DeMarco hurt already this year.
