Just to be clear, I am not trying to make excuses or applaud the coaches. I think we have underachieved this year and I blame our head coach for that. I just look deeper and realize that perhaps there is a reason that no team experiences the turnover that we have and continues to dominate. It is simply too much and we don't have the resources like Bama or Georgia to go out and get the best of the best to fill the holes. I thought we should be better, and I think we should not have lost to JMU, Texas State or even Coastal. I can point to coaching blunders in each game that I think significantly lead to our losses. But that being said, I question if any team could have the coaching turnover that we have had in that past 5 years and be remotely competitive. I look around college football and I don't see it. This isn't to say that I am happy because I am not. I just have come to grips that we are now paying for our past success, even if we might not need to be. I still think that if we stop this RB rortation, feed Cam 25 times a game, stop going for it on 4 th down on our side of the field, and kick FG when we can...we would have a better record than we do now. But I'm no coach so what do I konw.

It’s like Shawn Clark and the coaching staff purposely tries to make this shit complicated. It’s not. ENOUGH ENOUGH ENOUGH with this dumbass pointless RB rotations. Cam Peoples is the best running back. We win when we run it through cam. It’s so freaking simple. We lose when he’s unhealthy, which okay I can deal with. This is a very rational post, thank you for a truth bomb here.

The third and 1 and the fourth and 2 on our 38 calls blew me away. We bunched everyone in the middle of the field and ran goal line with Noel, then we run a jumbo package on 4th with Cam. These are the play calls in an offensive linemen were calling plays.

The problem is we weren’t able to run between the tackles all night and CCU knew we would be hard headed enough to continue trying that even in critical situations.

We were down 7, McCall is getting knocked around and we gave them a chance to shift momentum.

The situational play calling was suspect at best and the end of the first half clock management was awful.

the score does not indicate how outschemed we were tonight.

Come on pizza, it gets old listening to all the excuses. There is a history here and there is no reason we should not be able to re-load at the G5 level. It isn't about resources. Face it the coaching staff has failed. Coaching turnover is an absolute when you are successful at this level. If you want to continue to be successful, the right staff has to be put in place during turnover years..........hint hint.........Boise. Not saying DG has failed, because I think he is the absolute best AD. However, everyone can't bat 1000 and I think this was a strikeout. Just my opinion.

i’ll ask again…what offensive lineman oriented head coach has succeeded at the college level in the past 15 years (outside of les miles). our scheme- zone blocking, run up middle, no jet sweeps no bubble screens, no creativity is a direct correlation of having an o lineman as a head coach. bland bland bland. not calling for his head just kinda pointing out a realization, there just aren’t that many good ex o line guys as HC’s. we’re kinda getting left behind while others pass us offensively

WOW! (j/k). I am not sold on the OC and situational awareness of what is happening at the time, vs what he wants to do. That said, I am going to go back to the OL, IMO it starts there. When we road grade, it all starts there. Our D plays better when the O is doing well. We have a three and out and D does not do so well. Complimentary football. I do thing QB1 has regressed, and could be part of the OL issue. Sometimes it is great, sometimes you bang your head on the wall with decisions and throws. We are making wrong decisions at the wrong times, whether it is play call or play execution. dropped balls by the WR. It takes 11 guys on the same page working together on each side of the ball. we only did that once, aTm, the rest of the time, someone was not covering their job, both sides of the ball.

My observations after rode back from game.
1. Got beat in the trenches most of the night both sides of ball..a little better in 2nd half on D..
2. No clue where our short passing game has gone. Evidently, it has departed the playbook. Can be used like a running play.
2a. Why is Stroman not on the field on most plays when a passing down. Realize 13 has great 1st half...but the kid is a beast.
3. If you are going to go for it twice on 3td and 4,th down in own territory and run up middle, noel should not be in game. Pull the guards and let him go outside...or run People's twice.
4. Their WRs were open all night. Plain and simple....we can say no penetration so our DBs cannot cover forever, we are young, no depth or not very good in cover schemes.. something has to change schematic wise, philosophically or use most portal options in off-season for D....something needs to change on 2023.... This is the weakest D I can remember in a long long time. I believe the kids are giving their all...it is just not getting it done this year.

Season goal of SBC champ is over. need to win 2 of 3 to be bowl eligible. not sure i see that happening. ODU pounded coastal. Marshall will be tough and the stink is the stink. I do not think i see 2 more wins from this group. That would be total fail to the season.

I am pleased with the players effort. Coaching has won us maybe two games this year - A&M and Ga State. But has lost us all 4 now. When you have the best players you can afford to go for it constantly on your side of the 50. We can’t do that. Our defense is not that talented. Plain and simple. We have to help them. We did that against A&M and Ga St and won. What a Surprise. If we miss a bowl, someone has to be fired. Changes are needed regardless. Keep SC but dale jones should be getting Sofield to pack his bags tonight.

Oh i’ve been a pretty big opposition to clark for the past 3 years. Just don’t want to get raked over the coals for saying it on the board. Started with clock management, still an issue. Then bonehead decisions, 4th down, bad time outs. Now undisciplined, holdings, drops, late hits, personal fouls. Recruiting might be taking a hit, too early to tell. Roster mismanagement…list goes on. He’s got some decent wins but some glaring inexcusable losses.
Surely, we will climb out better than 2 teams with no tradition. Just might not be Clark to help get us back to relevancy. I feel like we need to at least give him 1-2 years time with Burger/tabscott. If it doesn’t improve by then tho, look elsewhere.

Here’s my view from attending the game:

1. A positive, we actually ran two pitches to our backs which put them to the edge quicker. Those plays had some success.
2. As Bamboo said, if your are going go for it on 4th down and run the ball, commit to it on 3rd down and run Peoples or Castle twice.
3. If we could block, Brice could have thrown for 400+. Their secondary is weak and we could not exploit it coming out of the locker room in the second half until the final minutes
4. Offensive creativity has disappeared
5. Why don’t we run motion, shifts, misdirection, jet sweeps (the plays that coastal ran)
6. Why don’t we shift or change formation on defense?. We line up, show our formation and stay in it Give our players a chance by moving around a little and trying to confuse the offense
7, Nothing is special about our special teams. If we are going to struggle, take some chances to gain a field position advantage.

-RB’s run for less tha. 70 yards (18-Carries for 62 yards)
-Offensive inefficiency puts defense in bad situations
-We fall behind early and play catch up the entire game
