Re: What's the word on Price?
I think all th details that will be released, have been released. The suspension is for an unspecified period and he has been given things that he has to do in order to earn the trust of the coaches, players and community. That is a paraphrase.
I don't think it will ever be made public what those things are that he has to do, and honestly....don't think it's any of our business.

I don't expect him back in uniform on a gameday before early October; if then! Too much bad publicity from/about him already. He has to get the message this time; as another major rules/law violation would be strike three. I don't think he'd get a fourth swing at ASU. We've been down that road with a long list of others who just kept on keeping on. No player's worth that. Nobody! None! Nada!StuckinLodi wrote:Have the details of his suspension been announced?

I think ***(I do not know) but I think he will be back for Elon. Basically a 4 week suspension with 2 of those weeks being games. ...but I also agree, I do not think that there will be another "chance" He would seem to have worn out the chances.

Re: What's the word on Price?
I heartily admit that I am old school. IMOp, he had no business out drinking at 2 o'clock in the morning, underage or not. To me there are unwritten rules pertaining to keeping focused, keeping in top physical condition, and getting plenty of rest during football season. He lost his priorities and it may have cost us the Montana game as well as hurting our already stained reputation. My high school coach was an ex-marine drill sergeant and temporarily suspended an All-American tailback for a couple of key games as well as made him run the tackle line for 30 solid minutes after a couple practices...for getting caught smoking. He also made another kid run the tackle line for calling his own father "Old Man." That stuff wouldn't fly today but it sure worked for Coach B.asu66 wrote:I don't expect him back in uniform on a gameday before early October; if then! Too much bad publicity from/about him already. Re: What's the word on Price?
In your opinion, and I respect it, but if you polled his former players they would tell you differently to a man. We regarded it as a privilege to play for him. We have reunions every couple years. Of course we were fortunate, we had no prima donnas on our squads. I can't say that about most teams nowadays. At least it sure seems that way about current teams.huskie3 wrote:A decent coach would not do that these days!AppGrad1 wrote:JCline0429 wrote:I heartily admit that I am old school. Unfortunately, in today's society your high school would be fired make the 6 o'clock news.

Re: What's the word on Price?
When I played HS basketball, I got caught with Cigarettes and an old school heavy metal zippo lighter.
My hoops coach is the one who found them.
He threw the pack of cigs and zippo at my head and the zippo hit me pretty hard.
I never smoked again.

That's why I said : "That stuff wouldn't fly today but it sure worked for Coach B."Black Saturday wrote:JCline0429 wrote:I heartily admit that I am old school. You should be very grateful to him to this day. Of course he would have been fired if it was today.sixtoes9134 wrote:When I played HS basketball, I got caught with Cigarettes and an old school heavy metal zippo lighter.

No, he wouldn't. I went to Oak Ridge Military Academy, probably still happens there everyday - even though this was 1981.

That's a private military entity, not the public arena. Even though The Citadel is public, Coach B's old school methods could still be used there and is to some extent.sixtoes9134 wrote:No, he wouldn't. If a decent coach would then we would have a lot less problems. Then again we would have to define what a decent coach is wouldn't we?huskie3 wrote:A decent coach would not do that these days!AppGrad1 wrote:JCline0429 wrote:I heartily admit that I am old school. But, I miss the old days of coaching where the athlete didn't run home and tell mommy what the coach did today...
I got slapped many times in the head with my helmet on and never told my parents. We just had an incident recently about a situation like this and the coach got in trouble.
There's a fine line but I tend to lean to the old days of coaching.

I think his mom and dad should come visit him and let him know he is killing their shot at getting a nice new house if he makes it to the pro's...joking but maybe not
