True, but the color guy was very knowledgeable about the approach and strategy of the game. I actually learned quite a bit over the past couple games.

They are quite good for the most part, and perhaps I am nit-picking one bad call. But for the PbP guy to question the balk and the color guy to agree with it was bad. I get that there are so many different ways to balk, but that one is pretty clear.

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
Understood. That isn’t the point though. You can’t fake a throw to a base that is unoccupied.

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
It's not one call. Catcher is setting up with his glove above the inside line of the other batter's box and when the pitcher hits that spot, can't believe it's not a strike. If you're outside, it's outsideAppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 12:29 pmThey are quite good for the most part, and perhaps I am nit-picking one bad call. Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
That is how lefties should throw… down and away from righties starts in the outer strike zone then fades out…… all day baby… if they hit it… they just beat to the ground….. and inside and low to lefties… you don’t need to throw that way in the 90’s….. you can throw high 80’s…. and rack up the K’s…….

Another iffy weather weekend for the home slate in Boone coming up. Ugh, spring needs to bloom already. Masters looks like a washout as well.

5-3 Apps, B6. Lewis in to pitch for LaSpaluto. Good pitching so far, keep it going. Asheville jerseys are kind of clean. Not sure why they aren’t playing at the Tourist stadium though, that’s a great park.

Terrell with a heck of a dive for an infield fly out to take us to T9!
7-3 App, close it out.

Apps win!! Arms are slowly getting better. Bats still solid! Can’t wait to see the home slate this weekend.

Went to the game, had a great time. This team is fun to watch. A few nerve wracking innings, but a fun game and a good contingent of Black & Gold.
GO APPS!!

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
Team Era coming back down into form...still a little bit left to do here though.
7.42 ERA.
.275 average as a team. The bats are really looking solid, just need to find some more clutch situation hitting (get guys on, get em over and hit em in).
I can feel the momentum heading into this weekend and with Wake Forest at home looming Tuesday April 10.
Any of you local mountain guys have a hunch whether we will be playing games this weekend? This storm looks nasty and cold. Hopefully we can watch our Apps take the series and on Sunday we can watch a wild finish down in Augusta.
