Fair enough! I read your question/suggestion as you saying he was kicked out of school and we should have at least allowed him to finish.311neers wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 3:16 pmWithout going back up to explain the confusion and probably causing more confusion, I’ll eat it and say I read the comments wrong and misinterpreted yours and Cane’s post. Understand them now. I never said that we kicked a kid off or that they can’t go to school anymore if they transfer portal…I know that’s not the case because 2 kids I know stuck around and finished school even in the portal. I merely just asked a question that maybe we didn’t announce the portal so he could finish up school strong and focus on his class work without having to deal with the portal stress. It was just a suggestion as to why I thought we/he might have not announced it in December. Whoopsie!AppStateNews wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 2:38 pmWho posted anybody dropped out? It was actually the exact opposite. You said the basketball program didn't allow them to attend the University any more. I simply said the players chose to go somewhere else and were not kicked out like you suggested...

Haha! Sorry about that, not as smart as some of you folk! Here’s to hoping there is less drama with the 2023 class than the 2022 one!AppStateNews wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 3:24 pmFair enough! Hopefully the continuity helps. Last season we graduated 4/5 of the starting lineup. We'll be starting this season off with possibly the same rotation. Hopefully the bodes well for those early season games too.

Re: 2023-24 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist
The final weekend of '23 MBB & WBB recruiting is just ahead as the NLI deadline is Wed. of next week. One would assume that a few special invite kids will be visiting campus in the next few days. Based on speculation about both rosters, it would appear that both still have one or more slots remaning to be filled. There's some drama! Have the slots been filled but the announcements are being temporarily withheld OR are we in full panic mode?

Continuity on the court isn’t likely to help the drama. A lot of the issues were off the court.agentpaul001 wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 11:59 amHopefully the continuity helps. Interesting. Ex ETSU and UGA kid. Doesn’t do much offensively but athletic and can defend.

For anybody still confused about the Zocko Littleton situation -- he just committed to Chipola College. He was forced to go the JuCo route. That doesn't normally happen once already on a D1 campus....

I believe it means you can no longer enter the transfer portal. But I think if you are already in the transfer portal, you can still do visits and try to find a landing spot. If this is accurate, it would appear we did pretty good with retention of our best players.

How do you know he was forced??AppStateNews wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 7:30 pmFor anybody still confused about the Zocko Littleton situation -- he just committed to Chipola College. He was forced to go the JuCo route. That doesn't normally happen once already on a D1 campus....
You could say that about many D1 players....I know of 1 who chose to go JUCO route after a new coach did not renew a scholarship, the kid had over a 3.75 and great academically. The JUCO was simply best path for future opportunities at the time when COVID messed up so much stuff with all programs.

“Forced” can mean a lot of things. He could have been pushed out. It could mean that the current situation was beyond resolution and there was no other option. But to AppStateNews’ comment, he was forced.appgrad2010 wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 8:28 amHow do you know he was forced??AppStateNews wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 7:30 pmFor anybody still confused about the Zocko Littleton situation -- he just committed to Chipola College. What’s wrong with JUCO? You make it sound like a death sentence. It may have been the option that best served his personal needs.
I have no personal knowledge as to why he chose that route. I do know why he had no choice but to leave App and I honestly don’t blame him. I wish him the best.

Yes, he was forced to JuCo once he decided to transfer. He didn't have any d1 programs calling so he was forced to go JuCo route.
There are reasons he didn't have teams making the call....

Though he wasn’t forced out in the sense the staff told him to leave.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 9:32 amWhat’s wrong with JUCO? You make it sound like a death sentence. It may have been the option that best served his personal needs.

He was not forced to go JUCO is what I am saying. Forced implies academic issues. He chose to go JUCO instead of a lower level, in hopes of going back D1 after a year it appears.

If you want to imply it being academic issues, go ahead. That's your prerogative.appgrad2010 wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 1:13 pmAppStateNews wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 9:39 amYes, he was forced to JuCo once he decided to transfer. He didn't have any d1 programs calling so he was forced to go JuCo route.

But yes, he was forced to go JuCo. He didn't have any other options other than no longer playing college basketball.
