Home Game Traffic

Unread post by tim88791 » Thu Sep 12, 2013 6:12 pm

Last weekend as we left the stadium parking lot, we got to staduum
Drive, tried to turn right and were told we could not. I asked why and was looked at as though I had asked the campus officer for the coordinates to mars! Given the game traffic (with one exit) and the fact that our condo is 5 miles down 105, can someone please tell me why we can't TURN RIGHT out of the stadium parking lot?

I wondered the same thing since I head down 105 to get to Asheville. The only thing I could think was that it had something to do with having blocked the street for the fireworks. If turning left onto Stadium Dr is the only option, I'll definitely be staying for the Tennessee Waltz every game.

The same thing happened last year late season. There were no fireworks

Not saying you're wrong by any stretch of the imagination. I simply don't remember not being able to turn right last year. I wonder if the neighbors have complained about game traffic through a highly residential area. I can see folks who think they know where they're going getting all messed up on those roads.

Not sure about the No Right Turn but very happy to finally not have to compete with Pzza Delivery and students trying to drive up Stadium Drive while all the vehicles were trying to exit. :D

An aside, given the infrastructure of Boone, I think the ASU officials, the Boone PD, and the Highway Patrol do an excellent job of handling the ingress and egress of football traffic. Just my opinion.

FTR I've never criticized them.

I turned right out of the lot with no problem. I waited until after the fireworks however.

Having attended the Clemson vs Georgia game a couple weeks ago, I'd say all parties involved in post game traffic at ASU do an outstanding job. Took nearly 1.5 hours just to get out of the parking lot I was in at Clemson.

I too, was at Clemson vs UGA and we left immediately following the onside kick and were able to get out of our lot in seconds. We were let onto perimeter road and got back to our hotel in Greenville in maybe 40 minutes. Not too bad. Just got to beat the crowd.

Great night too.
