We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Up Next...UNC
I hate to say it.....but this time around Carolina will sand paper our ass. It could be really bad Deja vu 2011 vs VaTech. I hope I eat crow pie. Our RBs aren't as deep as folks think and the OL will get pushed around and we don't have a Cam Peoples style back to keep them honest nor a veteran QB. We will have to play up tight swarm and tackle extremely well and I don't see it happening.
KICK ASS!!!

We have a starting QB with more starting experience than last time we went down there and beat them...CornCobPipes wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 5:32 pmI hate to say it.....but this time around Carolina will sand paper our ass. Very true and you make a valid point....but Zach could run very well and I think we had a better overall talented team then vs a much weaker Carolina team talent wise plus we were under the radar coming into that game. I remember actually expecting to beat Carolina in that one and I think many others did too.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 5:43 pmWe have a starting QB with more starting experience than last time we went down there and beat them...CornCobPipes wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 5:32 pmI hate to say it.....but this time around Carolina will sand paper our ass. That's fair. I agree 2019 had better individual talent but I think we have more depth this year.CornCobPipes wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 5:49 pmVery true and you make a valid point....but Zach could run very well and I think we had a better overall talented team then vs a much weaker Carolina team talent wise plus we were under the radar coming into that game. + we put up 61 points on the holes last times we played them. It’s not time for “Woe is me”. It’s time for “We can do this!!”

Re: Up Next...UNC
I just recall that we had a good lead, we were beating them off the line and it we had to hang on at the end. Our defensive guys were dropping like flies. We won, it was great but it was a tough 4th quarter. We will have to play mistake free and will absolutely have to tackle better.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 5:58 pmThat's fair. Re: Up Next...UNC
Just throwing this out there, but...
If strong feelings are still lingering from yesterday's flame war on the App/GW game thread, I'll be happy to host a street brawl before ECU. I'm thinking a little App-on-App violence will lower the testosterone level here and make things a bit more civil.
I'm leaning towards hosting the event inside the construction fence at Belk Hall. Centrally located and provides us with a modicum of privacy in which to transact our business.
Lemme know if you want me to set your name down. Once the fighter's card firms up a bit, I'll get busy setting lines with our resident math/stats wizard (aka, 94). Plus, I'll graciously offer to make book before and during the event. Oh yeah, leave your SO and young'uns at the tailgate...

The train of thought is solid, 94. But that may be a little too "uptown Charlotte" for this crowd.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 8:43 pmShould I call Tuesday and reserve a block of parking spaces in Duncan that we can make an Octogon in?Bootsy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 8:41 pmJust throwing this out there, but...

In reality nobody would show up. Typing on your cell phone is one thing. What did Mike Tyson say? Hell yeah. And App nation will be there to witness. We’ll damn sure be louder than the hole fans as long as they don’t run out of Shiraz. God help us if they run out of that.

Didn’t they have 1-2 good WRs missing vs SC? Wonder if they get to play.
I do worry greatly about this one.

Re: Up Next...UNC
Carolinas defensive line is stout. Maye had some great throws, and they have some great team speed, but Maye doesn't handle pressure well. Our best chance is getting on him quick. Legette, WR for SC, was a monster and manhandled Carolinas defensive secondary. Wells and Stroman should be watching the tape and Ponce should be drawing up some creative ways to get them isolated against who they want and eat. Carolinas run defense was great- Noel will have to conjure up a special game or someone else needs to step up and have a day.

It especially seems like we do on defense in a few spots. I looked at the numbers on PFF and they got us credited with 19 offensive players and 28 defensive players who played.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 5:58 pmThat's fair. We played 10 DBs, 6 DL, and 12 LBs. That seemed like a solid number for this game. On offense we had 2 QBs, 7 WRs, 2 TEs, 6 OL, and 2 RBs. I was hoping to see 2-3 more OL, 1-2 more RBs, and another TE but overall we did see a lot. If we had Marshall, Castle, and McKnight able to play I feel like they all would have seen the field as well.

They were without 2 WRs and they are both pretty good. Mack has been complaining big time about the NCAA ruling. If they don't get to play this week and we beat them then I wonder if Mack is going to pour it on thick how the NCAA screwed them against us lol

Do I think we can beat them? Yes. Is it going to be a shootout like last year? I don't think so. I think it'll be closer to 2019 if we play a damn good game.
