We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

I think if you rank the groups from best to worse for me it is
QB
Receivers
Defensive line
Running backs
Tight ends
Linebackers
Safeties
Corners
I'm leaving out the kickers

Really impressive year for drink. The guy can coach, but his haters will never admit it.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 11:00 amAnd is currently 7-1. There’s no approval of Drink allowed around these parts! 13 wins isn’t impressive and he was a baddy! Being the bottom of the division is good! #TeamClarkAppDub wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 8:55 amAgree with several on here that our offense is very predictable. In a league where teames have bolstered their defenses is our offense creative enough? Love or hate him, Drink took our existing offense and added wrinkles to it that in any moment it could go quick strike or grind it out ala Louisiana 98 yard drive in 2019. Just looks like now we are okay with having a chance at the end instead of putting teams away.

I have some good news. We broke the streak of WLWLWL with consecutive L’s! Now we can get back to WWWWW, W, to close the season! #Believe!

Anyone else miss the days pre TV Network/Streams where you could just check in on ESPN gamecast phone app every 30 mins and know we’d be up by 28 on someone? Be confident in doing other stuff while checking in on the game and enjoying the weekend!

If anyone has a DVR copy of the game, can they sent it to me? I forgot to record the game and there's no replays scheduled.

Re: Moving On To ODU
I don't profess any great knowledge but obviously we were playing deep (rightly or wrongly) because ODU has a lot of success throwing the ball deep with lots of explosive plays. We clearly game planned for that. Give ODU credit, they took what we gave them.

What happened on that 4th and 10 is a direct result of our soft coverage

Re: Moving On To ODU
I went to the CFC game last night and listened to much of the 2nd quarter on the radio where Brandon Turner (former receiver) was doing analysis. ODU was driving and taking little wide receiver screens for 8 yards maybe 5 plays in a row. Turner pointed out several times how far back our corners were playing off and that we were just giving them the wide open looks. Finally he said “this tells me that Coach Sloan doesn’t trust his defensive backs to not get burned”. There’s someone who knows the game calling out an issue. To our credit I believe we did eventually stop ODU and held them to a field goal, but it’s not just fans who are seeing these issues.
Give 'em hell!

Re: Moving On To ODU
We give teams way too much and don't adjust at all or wait until it is way too late to adjust. Shawn also seems to be too nice and not want to put teams away. It is like he just wants us to be in position to win the game late instead of putting a team away early. That mindset has always bugged me but I hoped he would change that view. We are not a 12 win caliber team but I do believe a really good coaching staff could get 9 wins with this team and I see this staff only getting 5, at best.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 2:07 pmI went to the CFC game last night and listened to much of the 2nd quarter on the radio where Brandon Turner (former receiver) was doing analysis. If fans see it the ODU OC saw it and thought he woke up on Christmas morning.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 2:07 pmI went to the CFC game last night and listened to much of the 2nd quarter on the radio where Brandon Turner (former receiver) was doing analysis. Re: Moving On To ODU
FYI, Clark was asked about the overturned targeting late in the game at Mountaineer Talk.
Clark said if someone pays the fine he would get for talking about it, he'll talk about it.

Re: Moving On To ODU
I think we were so upset with the outcome that we (as a fanbase) didn't get upset about the two missed calls down the stretch. The obvious (called targeting) that was waived off and Strohman's jersey was held on the final play in the end zone which should have been called pass interference. Both those calls should have been made and enforced.

Re: Moving On To ODU
As upset as I am about those calls you are absolutly correct. I have never blamed a ref for losing a game in any sport.
