Knowing the relationship he has with Coach Clark, I would assume we weren’t blindsided by this one. Going to hurt losing his recruiting prowess. Any ideas or thoughts on his replacement?

Have we ever lost only one assistant coach in one off season or not added a new position? If so, I sure don't remember it and I've been following App FB since 1963.
At least you boys on here finally let Clark have another season. j/k

The 2024 AFCA Convention and Exhibit Hall will be at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Ctr in Nashville, Tennessee from January 7-10, 2024. The AFCA Exhibit Hall is a great way for companies to showcase their state-of-the-art football products, services, technology, equipment, apparel and much more to our 8,500 coaches and support personnel from high school, juco, college/university and professional ranks to be in attendance.
It almost goes without saying that there's no better time nor place than AFCA convention week to make new contacts, renew old friendships and conduct interviews for coaching vacancies.

Rumors, speculation and actual transactions won't start winding down until the end of the first week or so of Feb.

Not everything, but most of it is.

True, but most successful moves aren’t made based on money. Justin is a good dude and I wish he and Lauren well.

Sorry but if I'm making $60k at a smaller or good G5 and even a crappy P5 offers me $120k to do the same job- goodbye

He’s the first person I thought of when Watts left, not because of any perceived ability or qualifications, but because he’s so close to Clark and seems to already be his right hand man.

Re: Coach Watts to Duke
Since he’s only tight ends coach, I wonder if someone else will be hired to take on the other responsibilities that Watts had, or will an existing coach on staff inherit those?

I hope we are paying our guys more than $60k. Especially at his age. If not, we need NIL funding for coaching too and not just players haha.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 12:40 pmSorry but if I'm making $60k at a smaller or good G5 and even a crappy P5 offers me $120k to do the same job- goodbye

That really wasn't a literal amount. I just put down a low salary and doubled it but I get ya.311neers wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 1:07 pmI hope we are paying our guys more than $60k. Assistant Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator…although I know that there might not be a need for a recruiting coordinator since all coaches recruit. In other words I wonder if someone else on staff will be elevated to “assistant head coach”, which is likely only for more pay.

Re: Coach Watts to Duke
We have Thomas Guerry that handles the RC duties now. Lance could handle the AHC role if needed.
