Most College Football Wins: 2024 CFN 5-Year Program Analysis

Unread post by Rick83 » Thu Feb 08, 2024 4:04 pm

We're tied for 10th with...Louisiana interestingly enough. Pretty dang good!

In the CFN 5-Year Program Analysis, we only give credit to wins over FBS programs. Games against FCS schools are about the paycheck for a layup victory - the FBS teams are way over 90% vs the FCS; more on this in a later piece.

In 2019 we would have ranked 4th. That was a heck of a run.

In next year’s analysis we’ll lose 12 wins from 2019 this year, if we replace with an 8 we’ll be 24th.

I’m looking forward to a return to double digits!

As long as Appalachian is in the conversation, any conversation, that is more exposure for Appalachian. More exposure helps everyone achieve more.

The biggest difference is that Appalachian has been able to capitalize on that exposure. Some schools have not been able to capitalize on their exposure. Having the programs that App has and using them wisely has led to App's success. A school of business, a planning department, and a location that makes you want to be there to be there. How many schools are in college towns that are also resort towns? Also the realization that athletics is not just an opportunity for athletes to get a world class education, but is really advertising for their school.

I am NOT taking the bait.

Dislike that you tried it.

The problem with the way you say that is that it implies no adjustments were being made, or would have been made without this assumed "severe pressure." Yes, I've read all the discussions with people talking about "ifs" and timelines. I still believe these adjustments were in process all along. I point to the team who NEVER showed signs of giving up on this coaching staff. Those guys and the coaches want to win even MORE than we fans do.

Of course, you can believe what you want but calling others on the carpet when they don't tow your personal line is something I dislike. I typed this so I guess I did take the bait though....so did you.

The truth is, as usual, somewhere in between.

Maybe ......but I didn't drum up old wound.

We adjusted and won last 5 of 6.
I'll stick with that short memory, instead of the last few years before.

My end to this bait
