"I think our guys are still hungry"?????? What the #$%&! That's not the "confidence" you want to hear coming from your head coach. I'm all in on Satterfield and think he should be a good long term coach for us but he's got to be more positive about his team or be able to motivate them to be "still hungry."

you have to keep in mind what coaches say to the press many times is not even in the same universe with what they say to their teams ---

Listening to Satterfields post game comments after todays debacle, I think he has basically written off the season. He sounded like a high school coach that just got whipped, and oh well we'll get them next time rhetoric. jmo GO APPS!

I have to admit that Satterfield's post game comments didn't exactly make me want to jump up and cheer. While I'm at it... My "gut feeling" about beating Samford must have just been a case of gas, cause I was wrong!
I will be there at KBS for next game and will be hoping for a win.

Tough, but correct decisions made in the offseason are as much a part of this season as any other factors. This team was going to rebuild this year no matter the coach, but especially because we have chosen to redshirt so many folks. Satterfield has too much class to say what is really going on (only 8 seniors, some of our best guys redshirted) because he doesn't want to make excuses or undermine his team that is playing out this season. In retrospect, it probably would have been best for Jerry to have one last season to close out his career, so long as: Satterfield was named as Jerry's replacement and decisions for coach hires, recruiting and redshirting remained with Satterfield. Don't know that Jerry would have agreed to that, but that is the only way could have worked. Jerry's game day experience may have won us 1-2 (at most) more games this year, but this season was going to be a loser either way.

I am with you. We must have had the same pregame meal because I felt really good about this game. I was even okay a halftime. I felt like some of the close ones would start falling our way. My attitude at this point is enjoy my time in Boone and support this team. I was there until the final tic of the clock just as I have been and will continue to be.
I had a jerk in front of me basically pulling against his team the entire game. We suck this, Jerry Moore that. Luckily he left early because my wife was about to kill him. I am glad that happened because it reminded me how stupid it sounds. Yes we all should be pissed, we all should be disappointed and we all have a right to be complain and at times be irrational. But at least try to keep it objective. BTW most of what I read on here has some basis in reality IMO. For the record my bitch is effort and coaching intensity. We have neither. These can be fixed.

I feel now that I, and maybe many others, underestimated the power off season drama to affect season's performance. I also underestimated the affect not having a post season to play for would have on the entire program.

At this point, I do believe we're in for a 2 win season (please God beat WCU) and next year will be not much better. New coach, new staff, no postseason, extremely young team, tons of red shirts watching from the sidelines, upperclassman unmotivated due to loss of coach, loss of title opportunities, this is a recipe for disaster. Unfortunately it's also the recipe for growth, at least the recipe App has chosen to cook up anyway.

All that downer stuff is hard to get through now, but when App earns a bowl bid, it'll be worth it.
