So what say you, the bandwagon that is left.

Heard your call. Brown did not want to call out anyone by name but it is clear that he was of the same opinion.T-Dog wrote:So after the game, DJ and Brownie took a lot of calls. There were a couple in a row that raise some eyebrows, one of them was mine. The first was about future recruiting and Brownie started talking about S&C. Then my turn came up. I asked about S&C (as I intended from the moment I called) and mentioned Kareem Young by name. Brownie made the comment about the players "not being strong enough to compete". AppFan made a comment and the Twitter firestorm started.

We have OL and DL players that are 295-310 lbs and can move but don't play themAppAttack wrote:We probably have slipped in the s&c dept with the coaching changes the last 5 years or so, and now we need more size if we don't have the same strength. It's much harder for a 260lb player to move a 310lb player than the other way around. He has to be immeasurably stronger.
Herd yesterday Kam may get a red shirt for last year that would be good for him to have another year to develop.Saint3333 wrote:We are a QB, two OL, and a another year experience for our defense from being a good team.
Kam is the best option this year but isn't a long term solution unless he can throw the mid to deep ball with more consistency. He is still young and can develop.
And if they are true freshmen they should be redshirted, no matter what Steve Brown says. This season, win or lose, is a non season. Those freshmen need to be held out until next season when we will legitimately be playing for a conference championship in the Sun Belt. No matter what happens this season we will live to play another season and we will be better. And I imagine Scott will be making some staff changes at the end of the season since contracts will be up or at least a year closer to being up.MrSkippy1973 wrote:We have OL and DL players that are 295-310 lbs and can move but don't play themAppAttack wrote:We probably have slipped in the s&c dept with the coaching changes the last 5 years or so, and now we need more size if we don't have the same strength. Saint, could not agree more. Next August It will not matter who our QB is this year. I am concerned that we might not actually have those two OL in the hopper. The defense is going to be fine. I loved that Woody was back in the box yesterday. He knows what he wants, and can communicate that to the guys on the field.3rd wrote:Herd yesterday Kam may get a red shirt for last year that would be good for him to have another year to develop.Saint3333 wrote:We are a QB, two OL, and a another year experience for our defense from being a good team.

Hallock did himself (and his school) proud against Western last year when Jamal was hurt, but I do not believe he broke any school records. His consecutive passes and completion percentage were very high, but I believe that Richie Williams has those record from his game against Furman back in 2004 (I think). KB's struggles Saturday were largely because the Samford defense was in his face all afternoon. There were plays in the second half where three Samford defenders appeared to come through untouched. He barely had time to drop back. KB is the most athletic of our QBs and if he couldn't escape, I doubt Hallock would have done better.appsportsfan54 wrote:I am just wondering why Saterfield is not trying Logan Hallock #16.????? He's that QB that went in for Jamal last year when he got hurt during the Western Carolina game. Hallock broke several school records that day. I thought he had an incredible game. I see he is the holder, but they have him just standing on the sideline. Seems to me that with the way Kam and Jamal are playing that he would try Hallock. He was listed in the Media Guide as a backup QB. I understand that he is a good leader, too. I really think Saterfield should give him a shot. What's Saterfield got to lose but another game. With a record of 1-5, it seems to me, I'd try something else and give him a chance.

Thoughts on this? I know it is pointless but was just wondering others thoughts...
Many could see this coming in the past few years with the way our linemen were getting pushed around. Especially in the playoffs.
