Been thinking about this since I found out. Probably flying into SLC and driving up.

Upgrade from NC State in regards to football national brand. I’d say NC State is a better team currently, but we’ll get more eyeballs nationally on this one. G5 game of the year! Eastern powerhouse vs Western powerhouse.

Sounds like a plan. I’m going to try to do the same.

How are y’all booking/looking flights 1+ year out? None of the websites are letting me go beyond April/May 2025.

LOVE this. I'd much much much rather have this than NC State in KBS....got an instant yes from the wife for going and turning it into a vacation. This is a major upgrade..we've had UNC and Miami at KBS; so while it would have been a cool game, State wouldn't have been at the level of those. Now instead, we get to plan for another awesome trip out west. YES!!!

Not booking, just figuring out where to fly in and out of. SLC seems like the easiest and hitting Teton and Yellowstone on the trip. May fly into Seattle if the Mariners are in town and head down to Portland and drive over. The drive east out of Portland along the Columbia River is my absolute favorite drive. Lots of possibilities.311neers wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 12:15 pmHow are y’all booking/looking flights 1+ year out? None of the websites are letting me go beyond April/May 2025.
You can look at flights now as a starter. The schedules into the bigger airports don’t vary that much so you can get a general idea of how many daily flights there are.

Upgrade over NC State in my opinion. I think this matchup will bring more national attention with two well known brands. Top G5 game of the year (possibly) is much more intriguing than G5 vs 3rd-5th best ACC team. LOVE this news!!!

I’d also make a pitch for flying into Spokane and spending a day or two in Coeur d’Alene or Pend Oreille before heading south. Some of my favorite fresh water in the world. Gorgeous area.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 12:28 pmNot booking, just figuring out where to fly in and out of. SLC seems like the easiest and hitting Teton and Yellowstone on the trip. Don’t think for one minute that I haven’t thought about packing my golf clubs for Couer d’Alene. Spokane is generally expensive. I can get to the other three with direct flights.ah59396 wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 12:33 pmI’d also make a pitch for flying into Spokane and spending a day or two in Coeur d’Alene or Pend Oreille before heading south. This year’s us vs Liberty has to be one of the biggest non-convergence G5 matchup ever.
Us @ Boise next year immediately trumps that. This could get ESPN2 noon kickoff billing.

Re: App State vs Boise State, 25 and 27
Flying into SLC has a variety of options including the 5 national parks in Utah. Also, as mentioned Yellowstone and Tetons are awesome.
Should be fun. It will be one of our vacations. So, we will do a week on the trip

This is great news and should make for some great games. Really excited to make the trip out to see that horrendous blue turf in person.

I've done Utah the past couple years (including the 5 NPs), so it'll be Yellowstone and Tetons for me. Definitely recommend doing the Utah tour though for people who haven't experienced it. Will be an awesome trip!BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 1:04 pmFlying into SLC has a variety of options including the 5 national parks in Utah. Heck yes! I'll make the 6.5 hr drive from Portland!
When you get to the Oregon/Idaho border, there is an Ore-Ida processing plant. That's when it hits you. "Ore-Ida, hmmm, like Oregon and Idaho." I love me some Crispy Crowns.
