Re: AP Week 1 poll
While the ultimate ranking is the top 25- in some eyes I’ve always been of the opinion that being considered at least number 40 is still impressive as that puts us in the top 3rd echelon of major college football. While that doesn’t much to the hardcore or delusional App fan that just seems solid to me. If we go 4-0 out the gate no way we aren’t top 25 by week 5.

Is this depth chart legit? Seems early to have determined already.MusicCityApp wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 7:03 amOur second team could win games in the Sunbelt. I am very bullish. We all know about Joey, WR ect. Kayne could have a huge season. Hopper, N Johnson, Favors, E Johnson are going to dominate. We are surprisingly deep on the DL and OL. This team could break in to the top 25 by season end. https://www.ourlads.com/ncaa-football-d ... tate/92913

Re: AP Week 1 poll
Based on today, I’d say it’s pretty accurate. Without knowing the source of the information, there are a few things that I would question. I wouldn’t put much stock into the three deep spots and some of those 1s and 2s should have “or” between them.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 7:15 amIs this depth chart legit? Re: AP Week 1 poll
Interesting to click through those depth charts and see how many transfers are starters for our opponents:
App - 4, note additional 8 on second string
Clemson - 0, 0 on second string, but 6 freshman (they continue to ignore the TP)
ECU - 8
USA - 5
Liberty - 6
Marshall - 7, all on offense, another 13 on second
ULL - 1, only 1 on two deep
GA ST. - 6
ODU - 7
CCU - 4
JMU - 12, 10 are senior transfers mostly FCS (Holy Cross), another 9 on second
GSU - 6
Troy - 5, another 14 on second
Texas St. - 6, another 9 on second
Marshall and JMU are going to be completely different teams.

As of today, of the transfers Cole and Shrader are likely locks to be starters. Farmer could be but it might be a Farmer or Clarke. Yowe will be #1 over Chambers. 7 of those 8 on the two deep are probably true #2s and I wouldn’t be surprised if one of them wins the job out of camp.

I have total confidence and faith in this team, and the talent & heart they bring to the field. Feel like it’s another giant slayer type of year to come. App beats Clemson and cracks top 25 come Sept 8th!MusicCityApp wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 7:03 amOur second team could win games in the Sunbelt. I am very bullish. We all know about Joey, WR ect. Re: AP Week 1 poll
I believe the new transfers will rotate a NT and OL. Transfers are providing depth with DB’s. I am hoping the Middle LB’s will outperform. If so, we can have a special season. Go App!

Re: AP Week 1 poll
The scary part about the NT position is that you can realistically split snaps between 6 guys. Not that they would but the depth is there. We should know more tomorrow on the OL rotation but they may have as many as 4 transfers (this year and last) starting with 1 or 2 more in the top 8.
