We all love Clark as a Mountaineer and hope hr succeeds, but the spin is lacking objectivity.

its not that they shouldn't have expectations, its that they have the WRONG expectations. Winning and conference championships? NO. NOT EVER. Who would be ok with that?

The expectation should be that no other program wants your coach. See, expectation met. Everyone is happy.

Once we can get out from under the cloud left by Drinkwitz in about 5 more years, we will be ready to compete! Until then, our expectations (that are the same as the team itself) are unrealistic

Cloud left by Drinkwitz is a very succinct way to put what we are experiencing now. If Drinkwitz had stayed I do not believe he would have been able to continue with that level of success. Maybe he damaged this team, culture, and fanbase more than anyone realizes.

Any thing less than zero losses this season and post season would be a disappointment, considering our expectations with this staff and this team. Back in '07 anything less than winning the FCS Championship would have been a disappointment after beating Michigan.

We lost a couple games in 2007, if memory serves. Were you disappointed that year?

No, because if you won your conference you got to go to the playoffs and depending on your conference you may have gotten a bid to contend for a National Championship. Even though we went undefeated in '95 the loss in the second round of the playoffs was disappointing. This season's expectations are such that the course of the program might be damaged if these expectations are not met. We have got a good thing going and I would like for it to continue.

I don’t see us going 6-6. I also feel Clark will need to go 8-4 to keep his job. It’s the optics of what is happening on the field that screams he is not our guy. I love Clark as a fellow Mountaineer but I also want the best for my school. I see us going 4-8 and winning a couple that we shouldn’t. Liberty should be interesting and good tell if these big losses have set in for good.
