Yes, I am MUCH older than Scott, errr...Coach Satterfield. I called him Scott when he was playing as a 19-year-old young man. Probably won't change now. I don't think he's offended. He calls me Tommy. Not Mr. Bowman. I'm not offended.

We don't have dinner together. But I have known him for about forever.

Maybe for public posturing, I'll call him Coach on the next teleconference. Then again, probably not. ;)
You get my vote for post of the week :!: :!:
Actually, the way things have been going and the many times this board has come close to an uncontrolled nuclear reaction, I give it Post of the Season. :!: :!: :!:

Don't regret it, we've just got so many bad things going on right now that people either want to complain about everything or just want a diversion to the season. Somehow, you drew the short straw this week. We'll move on to something else and you just keep on doing what you do. Thanks.

Awesome.

When I was in the business, I always called coaches by their first name. The only coach that had an issue with it was 10 years younger than me. It wasn't an issue for long.

That said, I do think TB should call him Coach.

But, hey, it's just an opinion.
When you're on your way to a 3-9 season, being called Scott might be the best you can ask for. ;)

sometimes it is nice to read and comment on something that doesn't want people fired, complaining about attendance, leaving early, the OL sucks, the QB can't throw deep, the play calls are terrible, etc. -

many wanted Coach Moore gone - check
many wanted out of the SoCon - check
many wanted the SunBelt - check

But they just can't let all the built-up anger go - so keep complaining about something - anything
AND I'M NOT REFERRING TO THE INITIAL POST HERE BY SIXTOES :o

He never called Coach Moore "Jerry." None of the other Sports Editors/writers refer to Coach Satterfield as "Scott", only Tommy Bowman.

A little odd.
Toes - just wanted to reiterate to you that any comments I have made in this post are not about your initial post here - you brought up a point that you noticed and for me it was a legitimate question - In this case Tommy Bowman has answered you directly and hats-off to him ---
My point was so many have wanted and complained and bitched for so long - To Fire Moore, Leave the SmallCon, join the SunBelt, fire assistants and on and on --- they still are in their anger/hatred/angst mode and can't get out of it even though all of the things listed above many wanted to happen have happened - BUT NO - we have so many more serious problems that it is a waste of their time to answer or respond to your thought without the typical sarcasm ---

WVA as you point out it was an observation on my part (not a complaint per se) and when Tommy wrote his response, here was my response:

That's the most rep points I've ever seen for one post. I doubt that record will be broken.

I am the one that brought up the possible age difference being a reason an older man may call a younger man by his first name, but the reverse could be views as not showing respect for an elder. I get not rep points.

Mr. Bowman, agrees with my comment in so many words and gets 42 rep points (including one from me.) which is a record that may go unbroken for a long time.

I don't think this is one bit fair.

Actually I don't care, I do want to thank Tommy Bowman for his coverage of App State in a fair and supportive manner.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.
