Hughes hit from 63 yards at pro day I noticed posted on X.
Nice
We knew he has a leg. If he can be consistent he could end up playing pro ball somewhere.
Was 13 for 13
That is good. I am guessing these were ideal conditions today? A game is much different but having a perfect day today can be the difference in a contract, tryout, or not getting a call.

Any idea how many NFL teams showed up today? I would be surprised if we had more than 20 and would not be shocked if the total was around 10.
Seven, and two NASCAR teams is what I was told.
Sounds about right. Nobody is getting drafted based on that traffic.

He holds the career accuracy record in both FG's and PAT's at Ap. I don't think consistency is an issue.

I would assume Hughes gets udfa contract at least.

I am sorry if it came off that I was saying he was not consistent at App. Consistency is the big deal breaker for NFL teams when cutting kickers a lot so I am just saying that he needs to be consistent in order to make it, like anyone else would need to do. If he plays like he did in 2024 then he definitely has a shot to play pro ball somewhere for sure.

Agreed. How many teams are looking for a kicker and is it more than the quality kickers in this class with Hughes will be the question.

Here is the App State article: https://appstatesports.com/news/2025/3/ ... o-day.aspx

I don't know who gave them those numbers but I'll find out what went out to all 32 teams and post it here. With only 7 teams at this pro day the results sent out by the NFL are going to be even more important since many teams did not even feel the need to show up.

The low Pro Day turnout by the NFL is embarrassing and I hope that Loggains will be able to get us a group that attracts 20+ teams next spring.

Realize it is not realistic to happen...but DLo should have put O lineman and D lineman up to make it simulated real FGs🤣🤣🤣

I did like seeing DLo in the pictures on the field or near the field. New coach who has really has not coached these guys...I liked seeing that..

Agreed. I expected that he would be because he should but still glad to see him supporting those guys.

Not taking anything away from Hughes, I very much appreciate what he has done at App and hope he goes on to a long and prosperous NFL career. But when your kicker is the talk of pro day, just saying.

What we all need to remember in this “new world,” with the portal, we will lose the better athletes (more often than not) example Nate Noel and Jalen McLeod not to mention Joey Aguilar, who got an extra year due to community college……. Who all would have been here and driven more scouts here. The days of seeing 20 or 30 NFL scouts in an App pro day are likely over.

I agree with you that we might have fewer NFL caliber guys that finish at App. but we didn’t lose many guys to P4 poaching. We just didn’t have the talent.

And that’s been our problem the past few years. Same with coaching. If you aren’t getting poached in todays NIL world, you probably aren’t winning or good enough.

I usually say that about the punter but also true here. There is a reason only 7 teams showed up.

Noel ran slow at pro day. McLeod is looking good and gonna go mid rounds I think. We can still draw those crowds but will be a little harder. NDSU, SDSU, and Montana State all are getting more interest in their class than we are. We missed on a lot of talent the last 4 years and I am hoping we see HS recruiting pick up.

Shawn made some mistakes with his staff. Too many guys that were late in their career and lazy on the recruiting trail.

Whose list are you going by? Coaches didn’t list any but we did have 2 make Phil Steele’s list.
