I believe this year all Sun Belt football games that were not on a regular TV channel were streamed on ESPN3.
We have many of our games streamed to ESPN3 already, I believe. I just don't care to sit in front of a computer to watch a game.

Well it's just like AppState TV - you don't have to watch on the computer - run it through your HDMI on your tv and watch it there - the APP production is in HD and you get the play by play with David and Steve - really top notch production - watched the UGA on ESPN3 thru the tv and it was fine ---

A lot of the Sun Belt ESPN3 games are blacked out though depending on the area.

We had 1 (maybe 2) streamed on ESPN3 this year. I'm sorry, but that's not "many"

There have been 2 games on ESPN3 - GSU and UGA. The other home games have been available on AppState TV. No road games besides UGA have been available.
I do wonder what the Sun Belt's ESPN3 contract will do to the value of the AppState TV subscription. The GSU game was not available on AppState TV because it was on ESPN3. If that exclusivity exists with Sun Belt games, the biggest selling point of AppState TV will be gone.

I don't think so. I just think more alumni that live throughout the Southeast will get to see the Apps play than ever before. The folks that live in Boone, Tri-Cities, Winston, Hickory, Charlotte or Greensboro? Yeah, a local game at the small college within 2 hours driving distance is gone, but Alumni throughout the SE will get to see our games in person, or on the ESPN networks most every weekend, not once a year.
There is nothing wrong whatsoever with the SoCon, or the schools in it... we have just plain outgrown the conference, and we will not be able to continue to grow as a university if we do not associate ourselves with other regional and national universities. I think Peacock said it best the day we announced: "We are not moving up, we are moving on."
But we are moving up. Nothing wrong with saying it. It was time to move up from D-II to D-I in the late 60's and its time to move up from FCS to FBS now.
I haven't checked lately but I don't believe we were ever D-II except for a few months in 1973. We were NAIA for a long time and considered "small college in NCAA for a while..
I may be mistaken but believe we were a D-II independent for a couple of years between leaving the NAIA's Carolina's Conf and joining the SoCon.

The only time I have ran into an ESPN3 black out is when the game was available on a regular TV channel in my area.

The SoCon only had 1 conference game per week on ESPN3. All Sun Belt games were either on regular TV or ESPN3.
I connect via the HDMI port to my flat screen and the picture looks great.

My computer is in another room. I would have to run cable all across the floor, etc. Plus, don't think my Vizio has a connection.

You'll find most Elon fans of a "certain age" as you describe, those who have been around remember the Elon of old - good people, small school. caring president and staff and NOT what it is today - full of rich kids driving their BMW's, Mercedes, Land Rover's, etc. , an arrogance of superiority and a total lack of soul

I have had three student teachers from Elon. They were not poor, but not driving the car's above. One was from Boone actually. All three were good decent people, thought that last student teacher was a complete Elon fan and she was at every event. It was fun to mention the scores to her I must admit.

No argument there - if they go into education they probably aren't used to driving luxury vehicles

Since I live in the area I can assure you those vehicles are in abundance ---

actually, it's "Roku". Its a device you hook up to your TV that connects wirelessly to your home network and you can stream all sorts of good stuff to watch on your tv. I have one and love it.
