2014: What are you excited about?
Now that the 2013 season has ended, looking forward to next year, what are you most excited about seeing from the football team, program as a whole, or season?
For me, I'm excited to see how the new players, either red shirted this year or part of the 2014 class, improve our team. Going into FBS, we knew recruiting had to get better and we've seen the fruits of that recruiting this year with Cox, Gilchrist, Townes, Collins and Critcher playing major roles as true freshmen and RS freshmen stepping in to fill big roles as well.

Hosting FBS football teams at The Rock and showing off KBS' electric atmosphere to our new conference mates.

Hopefully another year of good health, and getting to spend several Saturdays with good friends watching the Mountaineers play football.

I'll be interested in spring ball, and the QB competition.

All of the above plus hopefully getting myself healed up enough so I can actually come to a game. The past two years have been bad personally.

I'm excited to see average attendance reaching 30,000, having a healthy team (especially QB), and new opponents coming to THE ROCK! Also new arenas to travel to and APP'S first bowl in decades (1955) ( weeks to prepare instead of days).

I too hope you are healthy enough to make it up the mountain. Just being there is good medicine in itself.firemoose wrote:All of the above plus hopefully getting myself healed up enough so I can actually come to a game. The past two years have been bad personally.

The problem is I'm already in Boone. I can see the stadium lights from my deck when the leaves are off the trees. I just can't walk up and into KBS right now. And I think seeing and even hearing the crowd (when the wind is right) is even harder on me.1ASU78 wrote:I too hope you are healthy enough to make it up the mountain. But I have tons of faith and know things will get better.

I saw stadium officials a couple or so years back let a former 90 year old former player be driven right up to the stadium and get wheel chaired in.

Re: 2014: What are you excited about?
I've had a standing offer from KP to come to his box and have had dozens of offers to park behind the stadium. But when I am really having trouble I can't even get upstairs in my own house, much less out to a car. I'm 46 and there are many people more deserving than me of getting that kind of assistance. I will continue to work out and rehab and things will get better and I'll be back. But not being there has not lessened my support for all things App and it never will.JCline0429 wrote:I saw stadium officials a couple or so years back let a former 90 year old former player be driven right up to the stadium and get wheel chaired in.

I look forward to not having to rely on App State TV for game video.

Re: 2014: What are you excited about?
QB along with WR should be some good competition. WR moreso in fall camp once the bulk of the newbies arrive. maybe there will be some O-line battles as wellASUMountaineer wrote:I'll be interested in spring ball, and the QB competition.
Re: 2014: What are you excited about?
Who is expected to compete with Kam besides Taylor Lamb?
Any new WR's expected to make an impact? We'll need them with the loss of Andrew, Tony (and Price).
