between the Panthers being 9-3, and in the midst of a franchise record 8 game winning streak, the Bobcats playing at a much higher level than in the past few years and the Hornets name coming back next year, and the Knights opening their new Uptown ballpark; has there ever been a more exciting time for pro sports in the Queen City?
There is a real chance for both CLT major pro sports franchises to both be in the playoffs this year with the NBA Eastern conference being so weak

I hate to be that person, but the Panthers started the win streak the week they let AE go, correct?mtnjax wrote:between the Panthers being 9-3, and in the midst of a franchise record 8 game winning streak, the Bobcats playing at a much higher level than in the past few years and the Hornets name coming back next year, and the Knights opening their new Uptown ballpark; has there ever been a more exciting time for pro sports in the Queen City?

On a more serious note does the current pro success and possible success help or hurt the area colleges sports such as JC Smith, Queens, Johnson&Wales, Davidson, and any other colleges in the area I may have forgotten about.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

not sure it has any kind of impact on those sports programs. Davidson is the only one i know anything about, and they have a loyal fanbase in that town which i doubt would be effected either way by Panthers/Bobcats success

i'm slipping. was paying too much attention to stuff on TV and it completely flew over my head.
in all seriousness though, it won't effect those schools fan bases b/c they really only care about UNC and USCe

AE and Beason were both let go. The streak began afterwards when the rest of the team saw the new GM was not messing around. I have a question for anyone who may know the answer; being on the active roster for the first four games, would AE be eligible for any post season accolades the Panthers earn? bonus money? rings?McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:I hate to be that person, but the Panthers started the win streak the week they let AE go, correct?mtnjax wrote:between the Panthers being 9-3, and in the midst of a franchise record 8 game winning streak, the Bobcats playing at a much higher level than in the past few years and the Hornets name coming back next year, and the Knights opening their new Uptown ballpark; has there ever been a more exciting time for pro sports in the Queen City?
