For the most accurate and relevant information regarding the College Football Playoff, you should follow the official weekly rankings released by the CFP Selection Committee, which are typically announced on Tuesdays during the season on ESPN. Except they keep having Miami in as the “highest” ranked acc team.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 5:26 pmFor the most accurate and relevant information regarding the College Football Playoff, you should follow the official weekly rankings released by the CFP Selection Committee, which are typically announced on Tuesdays during the season on ESPN. The argument about who gets the 12th seed is about as dumb as the basketball argument over who gets in as the 64th team. Nobody remembers that crappy basketball team who squeaks in and is gone by the first weekend. The 12th seed will play at the 5th seed and will probably lose by 28 points. This will all be moot

For sure. They have no chance to win but that does not matter. The reason I even bring it up is that if Duke and JMU both win then there is a chance that JMU could get the final auto-bid and our entire league would benefit financially from it. Maybe with the extra money we could use it to hire an OC, for NIL, experienced S&C director, more experience at some position coach spots, and even an experienced GM. We could take 250k or so and get a former NFL guy to be GM for a 2-year deal or so. A lot we could do with the extra money.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 7:28 pmThe argument about who gets the 12th seed is about as dumb as the basketball argument over who gets in as the 64th team. UMBC beat Virginia. Appalachian State beat Michigan. It could happen.
We raced our bikes down Cherry Hill every day and one day I beat him. 99 times out of 100 still leaves one time.

The final CFP poll has not come out yet, so very little is black and white. If Duke wins, the committee will rank them higher than JMU in the final ranking so they do not have to take two G5 teams. There could be other movement in the final ranking as well.CharlotteApp05 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 4:46 pmMost folks in this thread make no sense. Polls have already come out. It is now black and white. Miami is out. So is Vandy and Texas.
If UVA wins ACC, they are in. If Duke wins, JMU is in. Period. Because JMU will not be ranked lower than conference champion Duke.
It’s a done deal.

I did not look at the actual poll. I was just responding to the response that "polls are already out". They seem to be the final decision makers for the playoff teams. We shall see what happens this weekSeattleapp wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 7:25 pmExcept they keep having Miami in as the “highest” ranked acc team.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 5:26 pmFor the most accurate and relevant information regarding the College Football Playoff, you should follow the official weekly rankings released by the CFP Selection Committee, which are typically announced on Tuesdays during the season on ESPN. CFP poll will be interesting….. I am on a bowl selection committee and the feedback I’ve been given is if Duke wins, JMU is in.appst89 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 7:36 amThe final CFP poll has not come out yet, so very little is black and white. It's possible, but I'm not sure I believe the CFP committee is willing to do it.CharlotteApp05 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 8:25 amCFP poll will be interesting….. Re: Could ACC be snubbed and SBC get in CFP?
Every conference champ getting into the basketball tournament has always been stupid as well. Nearly every year there are at least 6 or more small conferences with champs who have 10 or more losses. It’s cute for selection Sunday and for brief moments on the first two days but other than that the 30 point blowout are pointless.

Re: Could ACC be snubbed and SBC get in CFP?
It was my gut as soon as Duke was announced in the game that it would likely happen. I sat down and plotted out the likely poll and after about 5 minutes of looking I realized JMU should have a legit shot so I posted this thread. I was definitely not meaning for it to be click bait. It is good to hear that is the word also going around bowl committees to back me up. Now, I don't expect Duke to win but just the fact it is a serious possibility has to be mentioned. I have not heard media talk about JMU getting in that much yet but have to think once the CFP comes out and JMU is ranked this week that the chances will be discussed.CharlotteApp05 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 8:25 amCFP poll will be interesting….. Re: Could ACC be snubbed and SBC get in CFP?
Sorry but that is a bad take. One of the best things about that tournament is the perceived underdog autobid rocking a power program the opening round.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 11:07 amEvery conference champ getting into the basketball tournament has always been stupid as well. You're going to have to sit through 80% double digit loses from those games, but every year the 2-3 that hit make it more than worth it.
