Recruiting pitches for G5s

"You know what happens when you come to Nevada? You go get $1.4 million to go to Oregon if you develop the right way."
Nevada football coach Jeff Choate explains his sales pitch to the players the Wolf Pack recruits.
This is what's gonna work for schools in our position, if we can follow through on our end.

We had others as well. Markell Samuel was going to start for OSU but got hurt. He is back in portal again. Castle had a solid season for Duke. Tulane is not a P4 school but Hopper went there and was 1st-team All-American this year.BallantyneApp wrote: ↑Fri Dec 05, 2025 7:47 pmI think Joey is a pretty good example for usrbarthle17 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 05, 2025 6:58 pmhttps://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/s/QkwH19e8pM

I do think G6 schools need to market along the lines of a proving ground for the NFL and to come play early to maximize their value.

Here's a recruiting pitch. "Come to James Madison where we whine about snowballs being thrown near our players and turn around and do the same thing on National T.V. during a conference championships game." But its okay because we're are special.

I’m probably on an island here, but I wouldn’t pitch App State as a minor league team for big-monied programs. Encourages too much personnel roil. NFL proving ground? Yes.

What about “we won’t sue you to get our money back when you transfer because we ain’t giving you enough to matter.”

I would ideally like to not be looked as a minor league for big money programs but that is what we actually are. Even with the "best recruiting class in school history" we know that if this class is as good as it looks on paper that we will be losing several of these guys after the 2026 season. It is what it is.
