watching Michigan...not very impressed
watch the Michigan/KS game last night, not very impressed with Michigan, not only this game but also the entire season, KS dominated an average Michigan team that was lucky just to make it to a decent bowl. Next year, they will be starting a qb with only one game experience, no real play makers at the WR or Running back positions, and a defense that gave up tons of big plays. Not saying we will win the game, but we seem to be catching them at a great time, overall talent is down, and probably will not be a top 25 team when we meet. Now, again Im not suggesting we win the game, realistically we are probably a 2 touchdown underdog, but, got to believe if we play like we did in the second half of this season, there is no reason why we cant be competitive into the 4th quarter.

Neither team that takes the field next September could beat either team that played 9/1/07.

even with Gardner last night, Michigan wouldn't have won. he looked good early on, but the last half of the season he was pretty much hot garbage

Radio guys said turf toe last night. Either way, I'm sure it hurts.
Re: watching Michigan...not very impressed
Not sure Garner even returns next year, Brady Hoke has said he prefers a more pro style offense, and Garner is a spread type qb plus Garder is so beat up he isn't nearly as dangerous . I don't see much love for Garner at Michigan I think there is a strong chance Garner says to hell with Michigan and takes his shot at the NFL

Re: watching Michigan...not very impressed
Did you guys watch APP this year?
Not trying to be negative, but APP was everything but impressive this past season.
Next season is going to be a tough one as well playing established 85 scholarship programs weekly.
The days are behind APP Football for now where we walk into a stadium and out athlete the opponent each week. Until Satterfield gets his program built in a few seasons we will be on the other end of that stick. I'm already having chills after watching UL-Lafayette.
I'm sure the Michigan program will be ready to kick our butts back to Boone and danged sure will be over prepared for us next season.
Let's try to remain grounded until we actually see something to get excited about on the field. Our 2014 Mountaineers will have way less in terms of players that will make it to the NFL as compared to our 2007 version that beat Michigan.
Michigan recruits top 10 or near top 10 classes yearly, they will be impressive when we play.

Hey, calm down there hero, no one here has even suggested we would have a chance to win the game, but rather we are catching Mich at a great time since it appears the talent is way down from normal years. I'm sorry I don't share the same gloom and doom attitude you have for the program, but what I saw in the second half of this season was a team that destroyed GS, beat Wofford, and scared the hell out of Georgia for a half, in fact on that day our starters were as good as Georgia's, just ran out of bodies in the second half. Say what you want, but what I saw in the second half of the season, gives me hope and confidence we can atleast compete when we travel to Michigan.

Don't get me wrong, I wish Michigan had no experience coming back at QB and I'm not trying to trumpet their players but in my opinion it is not correct to label Gardner anything but a good, solid QB who can make plays ---
his stat line and he did play hurt part of the year ---
PASSING GP-GS Effic Cmp-Att-Int Pct Yds TD Lng Avg/G
------------------------------------------------------------------
Gardner, Devin 12-12 146.07 208-345-11 60.3 2960 21 84 246.7
he also had over 800 rushing yards with almost 500 yards rushing net and 11 TDs

I wasn't really replying to you, moehler. Just remember last year, we had a thread about we were going to beat Georgia. After this past season, I'm not certain we need to head down that path again.
We did make a nice showing considering the talent disparity of our down year and an injury maligned Georgia squad. That game told us that our team believed in their coaches. Excellent sign even though we got beat.
I share the some general thoughts as you on the improvement of the team and general direction after Satterfield and staff got a handle on things.
I'm no doom and gloom, didn't entertain any thoughts of canning Satterfield as more than a few on here did. He needs at least 2 years to make his mark with his staff and his players. He's running on "Committee" time for the moment.
I think we will be ready to play and compete at Michigan. However, we are in rebuilding mode.
