Student attendence will suck that game, but alums will probably show up in their normal force. I predict 25k+ with a piss poor atmosphere Thanksgiving weekend.

do some kind of free Thanksgiving lunch with ticket promotion.

have it set up along the concourse and open the gates at 12 with the lunch running from 12-2. guarantee that would bring the students at least lol

Even with the comment that Bcoach makes which smacks of sarcasm, he is right. Nobody cares about the playoffs. The last 4 playoff games at Kidd Brewer attendance was 13k, 15k, 15k, and 16k and none of those dates were even on Thanksgiving weekend. I expect the same for the Idaho game.

Tickets sold for Idaho will be higher than those playoff games mentioned.

The doubters will be in full force this year no doubt.

Go look at Wofford's schedule any time anyone doubts the move.

Lot of negativity here. We wanted FBS and we still complain. Nut up and be in Boone for the dates allocated. Unless I'm dead or some type of emergency, I will be there. Go Apps!

I'll be there come sleet snow, rain or HELL. (The "hell" reference is if we've only won a couple of games.)

This will probably be the easiest FBS schedule App will play for the foreseeable future, but I don't have any idea what to expect.

-A Michigan team that, while not as good as the '07 team, won't be caught napping
-a bad non-scholarship squad
-a slightly better than average Big South squad that will come motivated to win
-three teams that went a combined 2-34 last year
-our arch-rival with a first year coach and new system
-two home games and one road against FBS squads that went 6-6, so their ok but not world beaters
-two road games against the conference's best

So I wouldn't be surprised with anything between 9-3 and 1-11

How can anyone NOT be excited? New classification, new conference, new road trips and venues, new rivalries, the opportunity to show other parts of the country what a truly special place we have in Boone.
If the thought of a crisp fall Saturday, with the smell of brats and chili in the air, the sound of corn hole boards and the marching band, and family and great friends gathered together to cheer on the black and gold doesn't excite you, you might need to have someone check your pulse.
Let the coaches coach, and the players play, and let's do what we do- pack KBS and get loud to support our Mountaineers.
GO APP and c"mon April!

I agree with all of that --- I think the question was about the Thanksgiving weekend game only ---

The thing with the playoffs was that those games had 6 days notice. The Idaho game has 8 months notice. It all depends on the weather.

I might not have the best predictions for the season, but at least I have the first one.

It's not like we didn't know we were getting a playoff game at home. Even with that we drew poorly for playoff games. There was plenty of time for people to plan. The interest in the playoffs was waning. In the future we will have plenty of time to plan to go a bowl game. And for those of you who complain about the bowls we would go to, how Many of you went to Richmobd Kentucky, or Murphresboro Tenn or Richmond Va for away playoff games.? The numbers I saw were very few. People talk about playoffs but few ever showed up. Our attendance will be just fine for home games

That could happen, but my guess is that GaSt will be BS. It makes some sense in that the chance of developing a rivalry with ULM to make the BS opponent every other year is slim. Whereas, GaSt is the closest conference school to App. If we can get GaSo back into the late-October, early-November part of the schedule for 2015, then it would work out well having our two closest opponents as our rotating BS games.

we got a bad team traveling across country to play us, a start up FBS program, on Thanksgiving, probably in bad weather, I don't care what our record is going into that game, if we don't win that game by 3 tds, we really screwed up!!

I think that's what happens when you don't wear a cup.
