No. It may happen because we can't stop it, but I want a taste of FBS success as it is, and I sure as hell don't want us to volunteer for I-AA all over again.
We are second tier right now. You don't really think we are in the same league with the P5 do you?

I want thing to remain as they are for a few years to see where we fit in regards to the rest of the FCS (P5/G5). At least for now (and likely never) I do not want to willingly want to be part of an official second division. Is the G5 an unofficial second division? Sure. Still, we are seen as the same in terms of scholarship levels and other national television opportunities that aren't afforded to the official second tier (unofficial third) FCS. If we WILLINGLY (like some here have stated that thay want to see) give up official first tier status, we can kiss good bye the possibility of home-and-home games against the P5, bowl and national television opportunities.

The only thing I would say is that we aren't going to willingly do anything. Whatever happens to us is going to be dictated to us by the P5. I think our administrators knew that when they made the decision to move. In that sense, they may have already willingly made the choice to be in whatever second tier materializes because they know college football, as it exists now, is not going to exist for very much longer. We've put ourselves in the best possible position to take advantage of whatever the landscape will look like. I think that is the most we can hope for in a situation where we have no control whatsoever over where we end up.

I understand, though nobody said I have to like it. It does look like some here are counting down the days until we're back as an official second tier. I'm not.

I'm not sure that I agree with counting it down, I think it is more like watching the clock and waiting for it to hit 0:00, because we don't really know where we are until it does.

Maybe so, but I do want to experience a bowl or two before it does.

I'm not looking forward to a separation between the P5 and G5 playoffs, but it seems like that is likely to happen at some point. I would prefer expanding the current playoff to include the 10 conference champions along with some at large bids, but I don't know if the NCAA will want to take that many top teams away from the bowls.

I figure it will happen sometime down the road, but I do feel we (G5) should fight it as long as we can. I would be more than open to a 10-conference champion, plus six at-large playoff. I figure the best we'll be able to get will be that G5 gets two or three spots.

Sorry, but other than Campbell, how could anybody not think our 2014 home schedule is better than the usual SoCon slate? There was NOTHING LEFT TO PROVE in the FCS.
