NFL Draft - Saturday afternoon
I am not passing judgment - just found this interesting - through 155 picks there have been 8 FCS players chosen - 3 of whom we played against last year (McKinnon-GSU, Dozier-FU, Taliaferro-CC) and none from the SunBelt --- (ps-I coulda missed someone however
)

Add Jordan Tripp from Montana to the list
and we didn't play against Taliaferro last year. we played Coastal in 2012, but i get what you're saying

Yeah, and no players from Texas have been taken. So obviously Texas should drop to FCS or maybe even DII.

I could be wrong but I believe the SoCon had more guys signed last year than Sun Belt. I think it speaks to the number of undersized skill position kids that end up at FCS schools. Many don't make it in the pros but teams are willing to give the best a chance since typically you are not talking big money.

As far as I can recall, the Sunbelt didn't have a lot of guys getting drafted. Two from Georgia State and one from Arkansas State. Then again, I didn't see every pick.

The Sun Belt had four players drafted. In addition, Last time I checked the two SoCon programs that have put the most players in the NFL the last 10 years are now Sun Belt members, just saying.

No - I agree - I was just surprised that none had been taken when I looked at around pick 155 - I did expect to see a couple of choices by then because the SB had some good teams - I do think APP and GSU have a chance to make significant headway in the next couple of years ---Saint3333 wrote:The Sun Belt had four players drafted. Re: NFL Draft - Saturday afternoon
I hope he gets the chance Rek. Colts signed 4 UDFA WR's. Lots of competition, but we know TW will run great routes and Luck will throw it where it needs to be ... if he gets some throws from Luck and not the backups.
