"Sponsors" for a high school softball game

Unread post by McLeansvilleAppFan » Fri Apr 24, 2015 7:34 pm

So I have the pleasure of working the mic/PA for the last two or so home softball games.

I have done two games already. Between innings I am being a bit silly with made up sponsors.

Umbrellas for the rain we had last week and today

Clouds and tall trees to block the sun

"Gravel - not just boulders little brother. Gravel - why walk on dirt."

"White chalk - setting the boundaries."

"Grass - we make the outfield."

I have to keep it clean of course and a bit silly but need some other mundane things to make as "sponsors" between the innings.\

Dirt, white paint for the clean bases, bricks for the dugouts, backstops, the mesh wire behind home plate are some other things.

Help me out.

I've done something similar. "This pitching change isbrought to you by the paper clip. Want to keep several pages of a document in order? Get a paper clip. Paper clips. Find them at your local office supply store."

Ill do them from time to time in class during transitions.

This transition is brought to you by the Promethean Board. Is your chalk board too dusty? Tired of your white board not erasing completely? Try a Promethean Board. Promethean Boards can be found in any classroom. The Promethean Board. Grab a stylus, and show your work in 16 colors.

Today's starting line up is brought to you by tri colored carbon paper. When you need three copies of a single document to exchange lineups or to write up an unruly student, use tri colored carbon paper. Available in white, yellow and pink, tri colored carbon paper speeds up your work threefold. Tri colored carbon paper, because nobody's got time to write the same thing three times.

 Yep

Why bother to search when you can take more time to type the question than it would take you to use google in the first place.

This message board post is brought to you by Google. Tired of waiting for some yahoo to answer your easily searchable question? Use google. Available in the top right corner of your monitor. Google. Ask a dumb question, avoid getting a dumb answer.

I have to work in thrice in here and we are good to go.

That'd take care of the redundancy at the end. Triplicate would be a good word to work in, as well.

I need some help with this-

The Xth inning is brought to you by Acme brand Umpire's Plate Brush. When you need to be certain of balls and strikes only Acme gives you that clean and clear view of the plate - Acme brand.

Should I add "endorsed by Wil E Coyote" or leave that off as a bit to obvious.

Foul or fair - only Acme brand white chalk gives a clean edge for the discriminating fan. When you want the best foul line - choose Acme.

and again with the Wil E Coyote endorsement or not?

Maybe branding Acme as the running joke could be a bit humorous.

Sadly (for me and the team) most of the varsity games are ended with the mercy rule so I am not sure how many innings I will get to play around between innings.

After a questionable call. This inning was brought to you by the law firm of Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe.
