That was a fun game! Yucky weather, "We are UR" chants from the home side ... until the very end. Matt Cline being clutch, and a soon to be alumnus named Armanti. One of my favorite App football memories!

appbio91...yes, that was the game. I sat beside the line judge from Montana to Minn. He said that was the hardest hit he had ever seen and couldn't believe he came back into the game.

I echo those thoughts Daphne.. My oldest son, Michael & I were on that trip. One of best memories ever of a playoff game.DaphneUrquhart wrote:That was a fun game! The weather sucked. Cops came thru our tailgate area and told us we couldn't put up our tents. We were soaked by the time we got in the game. It was all worth it.

One of my favorite App football memories. The UR side was singing "Living on a Prayer" at the top of their lungs in the final minute and then AE throws a dart to Matt Clutch for the win. Good times.

Great game. I was on the bus from Charlotte that stopped in Greensboro and Raleigh and we had a great time, drinking all the way! I was standing next to DJ Smith's dad in the stands.

The cops told us to take down our tents, and the head of the Richmond Alumni Chapter asked them how much the fine was, and we'd just go ahead and pay it. They left.bcoach wrote:The weather sucked. I was there. When they came & told me that, I was so pissed off I could not see straight. It's a good thing I did not say anything.AppinVA wrote:The cops told us to take down our tents, and the head of the Richmond Alumni Chapter asked them how much the fine was, and we'd just go ahead and pay it. Wish I'd thought of your solution. As it was, we drove back to my cousin's house in Richmond, tailgated in her driveway, then drove back to the game. Went through the dang toll booths about 8 times back & forth. What a disaster that tailgate was!
But, THE GAME WAS WORTH IT!!!!!!! Wow!

One of my top 5 live sports experiences. CLUTCH CLINE. Never thought I'd be so cold outside of the High Country.

Had to listen to it on radio and texts from nephew at game. Was on edge of my seat whole time.
Watched Montana the next weekend on TV. Even though we lost that was the best football game I have ever seen in my life.

I will never forget that game played in that dank stadium. It was the last game Richmond played there and we shut it down in memorable style. So many twist in that game. Remember Cadet muffing that kickoff and them scooping it up and carrying it for a TD? That last drive was without any timeouts as I remember. The cline catch in the end zone. Went downtown to the Tobacco Club and shut down the upstairs bar there that night with nothing but ASU folks! The game is one of my top five sports memories!

Re: 6 years ago today...
One of my favorite memories. We lived about .5 mile from the stadium at the time. When we found out the weather and tailgating situation we told folks to come tailgate at our house. I looked up at one point and didn't know 30% of the people in our place, but it was all good because they were App fans. About half our group walked back to our house in the weather. Made a lot of great friends that night. AND THE W.

Re: 6 years ago today...
Interesting, as they tried to tell us we couldn't put up our canopy either. I showed the officer the flier we were given when we pulled in the lot with the "regulations." One said that tents couldn't block the access, take up a spot, etc. I knew we were OK when she asked to step under our canopy to keep from getting wet. She called a supervisor, spoek to him for a minute, and then walked away. After that, tents began to pop up like mushrooms in the lot...bcoach wrote:The weather sucked.
