My vote is facilities. Doug Gillin stated we need more club/suite seating. A new home for the track should be on his short list IMO.

So Mountaineers, what should be our next goal?
-supporting Beasley's scholarship endowment
-Athletics facilities
-coaching salary endowment (assuming this is still a goal of the department)
-S&C/nutrition programs
Thanks to all those who got this going, and all who contributed. Really cool.
I say we keep this in S&C. Make it our own little thing and it helps all the athletes.

Coaching Salary Endowment. We need the funds to stay competetive in FBS and D1 sports across the board. The endowent provides that foundation. You keep the leadership structure in place - then build expand stadiums/facilities from there. The hardest obstacle many G5's and Midmajors have with consistent performance is they are constantly rebuilding due to a revolving door of coaches - let's position ourselves to fend off poachers (of course can't compete with mega P5's) but can within a realistic range. We need to step it up to keep the Sirigano's, Woody's, Fox's and Satterfields around as they continue to perform. At the same time we need to further position ourselves to be able to hire the best candidate availavke should one of them leave.

Ideally keep these individuals around via ability to financially reward them with competitive salaries and bonuses for continued improved product and results on fields and on courts. This then resukts in increased interest in programs and a larger base to fundraise from for expansion. We need to move beyond going to the same well year after year and expand. I think DG gets this and I look forward to see where he leads us in the next few years.

Great idea, and it looks like it made its mark. I am new to the board did you reach the goal, are they still accepting donations as well?

Yes... it appears we did! I am sure more donations are a good thing. Dig for the link at the start of this long thread, and instructions on how to contribute to S&C...

I will donate, and I saw the information on how to give in the thread. I am pleased that we are moving forward.

It crossed my mind a few times Saturday as ODU looked very tired while we were still running hard and looking fresh.

I think we saw the difference this year. The way our OL dominated in the running game last night against a team that quite frankly kicked our asses last year is proof
