Re: Board of trustees
A friend and I had asked the same. Only answers i have are in the form of questions; is yesterday the last report of him actively recruiting? As far as i know yes. And what does it mean that a new guy was named sole OC at Bama today?

It's a Beechcraft super king, though. I'd hope we could get the new coach a jet rather than a turboprop.
Also, I thought that airport closed.

That's almost, but not exactly, the case. All development stopped when it became known that Lowe's was moving it's corporate hdqtrs to Mooresville. The develop. blueprints were sent to the landfill, but the skeleton is still here and open.AppfaninCAALand wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 4:59 pmWhile we are all freaking out over flight aware, I like to point out that there is a scheduled flight tomorrow morning into North Wilkesboro from Montgomery, AL. Probably just Shula or Griese making sure their homes in Linville Ridge made it through the blizzard.

No, it is actually a very decent little landing zone.AppfaninCAALand wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 4:59 pmWhile we are all freaking out over flight aware, I like to point out that there is a scheduled flight tomorrow morning into North Wilkesboro from Montgomery, AL. Re: Board of trustees
Can we agree on one thing
If it’s Searles, can we pull a Tennessee and as a fan base litterally revolt against the hire?

Re: Board of trustees
My sources called Wells Fargo pretending to be Gattis. It was tricky but they were able to obtain his recent purchases. A few things here and there but what really caught my attention was the purchase at Cookout in Hickory. Sure sign he's coming to App.

Well then, Watagua Co need to throw a little money it's way to change the name to Wilkesboro-Boone Regional Airport so detractor can't say we "don't have an airport".

Re: Board of trustees
The better option is Mountain City, TN. It's closer and you can fly business jets in and out of there. Great idea though.AppfaninCAALand wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 7:26 pmfjblair wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 7:15 pmNo, it is actually a very decent little landing zone.AppfaninCAALand wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 4:59 pmWhile we are all freaking out over flight aware, I like to point out that there is a scheduled flight tomorrow morning into North Wilkesboro from Montgomery, AL. The Boone/Blowing Rock airfield is a truly white knuckle experience, and that's with the little single engine props that you can get up and down on that short bumpy little strip.

Again, Gattis did not pass is what I was told. Did not mean to start rumors as I think he would be a very good coach for App

Re: Board of trustees
All this talk of plane flights makes me want to say this.
I just want a coach that takes Amtrak to Greensboro and then rides the Mountaineer Express East-West route into Boone and anything short of that is going to leave me very disappointed.
I would also be willing to accept Amtrak to Charlotte and the Mountaineer Express North-South route into Boone.

This is my very generic signature added to each post.
