Re: Board of trustees
Rememeber, we're on a message board wondering who will be hired to coach a sport of unpaid student-athletes that we derive so much joy from.
College football in itself is Orwellian and ridiculous.

Re: Board of trustees
So this is some next level sleuthing, but here’s what I’ve got. Gattis sent a tweet a couple hours ago from NJ. Another plane from White Plains, NY is scheduled for arrival in Hickory tomorrow. There was also the White Plains to Hickory, then back again yesterday. Leads me to believe that Gattis was on the recruiting trail, we flew him in yesterday to finalize some things, then he headed back to finish recruiting in the NY/NJ area. Now he’s flying back tomorrow to be announced. Just a hunch but there are some breadcrumbs...

Re: Board of trustees
I’d put the over/under at two years if he does well, but I wouldn’t rule out OAD if we go 11-1 or 12-0. There’s precedent there. And the buyout will be a non-issue for the types of programs that would be looking at him.yosef69 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 7:25 pmNo way. Whoever it is is going to have a substantial buyout. Also one year with a loaded roster wouldn't entice anyone to hire him, IMO.Apple@chin1 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 7:22 pmWould Gattis be our next Mack Brown? One and done? Would that be beneficial for App?

Re: Board of trustees
I would structure the contract buyout
Year buyout
1. $5m
2. $4m
3. $3m
4. $2m
5. $1m

Re: Board of trustees
I just went to App State Mania and someone there is saying it isn't Gattis either. I'm going insane.

Re: Board of trustees
Someone earlier on this board said Doug told the team earlier it was Gattis. The meeting between Doug and players was confirmed just now in the Ivey press release.

Re: Board of trustees
I hope whoever it is keeps ivey on as DC and/or AHC, is really successful and when they move on, be it 2 years or 10, Ivey is our next HC. I think this opportunity to be interim has opened his eyes to what he wants to be and hopefully areas he can grow, so when this comes again, he will be in a better spot to be a successful HC for App

Re: Board of trustees
If we hire Scottie Montgomery because Josh Gattis "didn't pass a background check" (whatever that means anyways lmao) fire everyone involved
