We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Ah, yes, I’m sure the kid who grew up in purple and gold with a dad that works for ECU athletics will leave Greenville right as they are starting to build momentum.kornegaylw wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 11:51 pmHeard something about Holton Ahlers from ECU transfer to App...

Re: QB 2021
Pretty sure Huesman is leaving. Also, while I certainly get the narrative appeal of the loyal backup finally getting the car keys and doing great, maybe the coaches didn't feel that was our best option either. Sometimes a backup QB is a backup QB.

I’m sure Brice is plenty talented, but Dabo is a snake oil salesman. Albeit a damn good one. I don’t trust a word that comes out of that mans mouth.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 10:52 pmMaybe some forgot about this ---

Re: QB 2021
I got a chuckle out of this. Interesting that some of ECU's momentum at the end of the season happened when Ahlers wasn't under center. Be that as it may, It's good to see the Pirates starting to turn things around. Now, back to App's next QB.diehardapp18 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 11:55 pmAh, yes, I’m sure the kid who grew up in purple and gold with a dad that works for ECU athletics will leave Greenville right as they are starting to build momentum.kornegaylw wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 11:51 pmHeard something about Holton Ahlers from ECU transfer to App...

I'm sorry, but I hope ECU NEVER gets things back on track. I remember our Conference game wars from the 70s...the pricks!!! Still don't own anything PURPLE.Bootsy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 6:35 amI got a chuckle out of this. Oh yes, the coaching staffs are why Thomas isn’t a heisman finalistkornegaylw wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 2:44 pmHey I share your concerns too I'm just trying to play devils advocate here...I think that App should be a prime destination for good QBs but up until this year nobody gave the SunBelt a look and from what I've been told about how coaching staffs have dealt with ZT the past 3 years hasn't given us the best look to potential QB transfers.NavyApp wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 1:00 pm15 picks on a diet of short passes is alarming, I don't care how you cut it. The phrase "Duke was bad across the board" keeps showing up, doesn't that apply to Brice too? Also why wouldn't he stay at Duke one more year with said QB guru? I get that 2020 has been nuts and everyone should get the benefit of the doubt but why are we already trying to defend a dude that flat out ain't done nothing? Are we not good enough of a program to warrant more than a two time P5 cast off? Don't you think we deserve better? I surely do!kornegaylw wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 12:47 pmStats are important but they don't tell the whole story for a QB...How good was the OL/WRs, who'd they play, COVID year, etc...Cutcliffs teams are way better than the teams we all remember at Duke from the 90s and 2000's but its still Duke football.
If a QB "guru" like Cutcliff thinks he is good enough to start in a QB room of 7 guys I'm willing to give Brice a look.

Re: QB 2021
Brice is a 4 star QB that was recruited to Clemson and was the back up to Trevor, he transferred to Duke for 2020 and played as the starter but didn't go well. He has entreated the transfer portal again and is 'likely' coming to App. Nothing "official" yet. But we should find out today.

Re: QB 2021
Thanks, I just looked at the Transfer portal and saw him in there, with decision pending. Let me say there is a TON of talent at every position in the portal this year, I don't think some of these boys are going to be picked up.

Re: QB 2021
From growing up and seeing Dook's football program this doesn't give me a lot of hope. If he comes hopefully I'm really incorrect.

From a personal perspective, having a Dookie come in for the year is like having Darth Vader pose as a Jedi fighter for a year..bad guy posing with the good guys...BAHAHAHAHA
It would be curious to know what happened at Dook..Maybe the team was terribly worse than when Daniel Jones was there.

Re: QB 2021
If Brice does come I think its a win either way. You have a kid who had Hella talent out of high school that was recruited by the cream of the crop colleges. He signed with one of those and was just buried in the depth chart. However, he still went to practice everyday and learned how to prepare for the highest level games against some of the best teams in the nation. Whether he gets the start next year or not or is beaten out by a phenom, either way he will bring a ton of knowledge, leadership and experience with him. If he starts, he may pick some of these Sunbelt teams apart. There is a difference in level of play between what he has seen and what we see week in and out, top to bottom whether we want to admit that or not. He could be a good add. That of course is IF he comes at all.

Re: QB 2021
If CB does come. He better work hard on getting the timing down with our WRs. He had less than 60% completion rate and had 50% more INTs (15) than TDs (10) for the Dookies in 2020.

Hard to develop timing and on field chemistry on a ZOOM call.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 9:57 amIf CB does come. He better work hard on getting the timing down with our WRs. He had less than 60% completion rate and had 50% more INTs (15) than TDs (10) for the Dookies last year.
