Not trying to make any point about that idea. Again I am talking about your revenue stream.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 5:15 pmAnd right on cue, here’s a thread from a pretty plugged in ACC media member:bcoach wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 5:09 pmI am talking about your revenue stream.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:50 pmWhat do you mean? It’s been rumored for years that at some point college football could separate entirely from the NCAA umbrella, the playoff is already not controlled by the NCAA for example. That’s about all you need to happen to allow football conferences to be completely separate from the Olympic sport conferences.bcoach wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 9:42 amYou need to investigate that a little better.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 09, 2021 12:27 pmAt some point they need to have football and basketball conferences and then regionalize the Olympic sports conferences. Athletic revenues are about 80% football and 20% basketball, it doesn’t make a ton of sense to continue to allow non-revenue generating sports to handcuff these athletic departments.
Again, not sure what point you’re trying to make by painting a pretty logical idea as outlandish.

Looks like there is a lot of action at the Temple Station though it is all regional rail it seems on the SEPTA webpage for this station. I don't claim to know where Temple plays their sports beyond football which was a nice subway ride to the neighboring home of the Phillies. I assume I was looking at the Linc walking to/from the SEPTA subway to the baseball stadium.PhillyApp1 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 6:22 pmWell, I would love App to kick some Owl on the field at The Linc..... You can stop in at Chickie and Pete’s for some Crab Fries and take the shuttle from the restaurant to the stadium.

Re: Recent realignment rumors/discussion
I don't think it would or could ever happen due to conference control of TV rights, but I have long felt that each NCAA sport should be governed separately (say by each sport's national governing body such as the US Soccer Federation or USA Field Hockey, for example) with single-sport conferences across the board.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:50 pmWhat do you mean? Strongly disagree. Collegiate athletic programs exist to provide opportunities for college students to experience being a part of a cohesive athletic team; provide opportunities for them to develop strong leadership skills, provide opportunities for them to further develop their minds and bodies, teach them to handle strong competition and teach them to handle winning and losing with class.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 09, 2021 12:27 pmAt some point they need to have football and basketball conferences and then regionalize the Olympic sports conferences. Certainly, there are limits to what sports programs an institution can field, but limiting their program offerings to just one or two team sports would make for some dull places and for some hot Title IX investigations. There's so much more, but I'll impose a word count on myself.

Re: Recent realignment rumors/discussion
My thoughts, P5 will be a P4 superconference once its all said and done with a P4 expanded playoff. G5 will consolidate into larger conferences as well with a G5 or 4 playoff. No way Power conferences share the money with group of 5. I don't see conferences in either group resembling conferences of today. So much can may or will change over next couple years its going to be a interesting journey. I do believe we will wind up in a top tier G5 conference in the end with others. Unfortunately I believe it will look much like the FCS, 1AA days of old. But if I remember right part of the logic for moving up was based on the idea the P5 would eventually part ways with the rest of us. Sorry for the ramble.

Well at least this guy is honest.
I’ve been in frequent and regular contact with all of the other A5 commissioners the last few weeks about the complex issues that are facing the industry,” Kliavkoff said, adding that there’s “nothing to report on this specific matter at this time.”
“The industry “ not college athletes.

Re: Recent realignment rumors/discussion
As long as we keep a spot for the top g5 in the CFP and the bowl games that ESPN matches up.....I will be happy. Still would like the Sunbelt pick up Marshall, ECU and Charlotte or make the move to which ever conference include Marshall ECU and Charlotte and hopefully not lose Georgia Southern and Coastal in the process.
I also would like to see an NIT type football 12 team tournament that includes all G5 champions minus the CFP selection.

The last thing I want to see is a separate tournament without the CFP selections, that would simply be one step closer to another break in divisions.

Re: Recent realignment rumors/discussion
I want it to include p5s.
Think New York Life invitational Tournament.
ESPN/New York Life/Pepsi sponsor it. Money split by 12 teams or conferences.
Think ACC number 4 team. SEC number 6 and 7(Virginia, Virginia tech, NCState, Duke, wake forest, Arkansas, Miss. st., South Carolina, Memphis, UcF .). All the conferences that signed up for ESPN bowl coalition. If a conference sends a team they get paid. Instead of meaningless bowl games.
