Going into the season I thought ULL was going to be the toughest game on the schedule.

After two weeks Miami is probably the best all around team on our schedule. CCU will be the best offense we face all year though and ULL is still trying to find itself (maybe a little hangover from Texas).

After sleeping on it last night was a more disappointing loss than Penn St as it felt like we were the better team in many respects. This team was a ton of potential and IF they execute can run the table.
I’ve seen ULL and Coastal play, I really Miami beats them handily. We have a really good team, and it showed last night against Miami’s talent, size, and speed even though we hurt our chances for the win. I don’t have a problem saying this is should be our best team since I’ve seen that I’ve been following APP football and that goes back to the last year APP football wasn’t Working.
I agree. We played the best team we will face last night. With that said, our team is on par with Miami. They executed better (no major mistakes). But, we didn't have to play perfect football to beat a ranked, historic program, (not to mention G5, ACC, on the road in a big stadium) we simply needed to execute a little better.
We win that game if we make one or two fewer miscues.
Miami has team speed and really tackles well overall. D'Andre King isn't as dangerous as Armanti was as a dual threat QB, but he's surrounded by speed and talent and makes good decisions. Our defense played really, really well against their fast-break offense. We held them to 5 conversions on 16 third down attempts. And, despite a few big plays, 6.1 yards per pass and 4.1 yards per run.
This game was played at a high level and there was only 1 Turnover and just 12 penalties.
Other than the crassness of a portion of the Miami fanbase, it was a great trip and great effort from our team.

It might not be as big a deal (NY6) if we knew we had a chance to play a quality bowl game against a quality opponent but that isn't going to happen - yet another Who Cares Bowl against a mediocre G5 team - that is the problem
Win the conference and we’ll get a decent opponent. Any lower and we’ll get a junior college like opponent

I see where Miami dropped in both the AP and Coaches Poll, interesting. Not sure if that is "disrespect" toward Miami or App (or, both). Regardless, win out and things will fall into place.

Notre Dame beat FSU by a missed FG and squeaked by Toledo and they are a top 12 team? As usual the poll is a joke.

Notre Dame is the most overrated, overhyped and over exposed team in the history of modern college football.

And, FSU just lost to a FCS team, I see your point.

Florida State just lost to Jax St too.

Marshall is favored by 10 over ECU this week. ECU gave their game to South Carolina.

APP is still good even if Miami dropped in the polls. Coastal being ranked where they are is the poll joke. Hope they come to Boone undefeated and ranked top 12ish because they win their easy schedule.

Our ROI is perhaps number one in FBS. What we accomplish within our resources is remarkable. We are as good as Miami ,at least this year.

IMO, to get good opponent in bowl game, we have to win out and win decisively in big games on ESPN for rest of season.....and then that is not guaranteed

I am going to enjoy watching these guys and hope it is undefeated the rest of the way!!

The number one goal is to win the conference, and despite the marked improvement of the SBC, I like our chances as good as anyone’s right now.

Just curious, does anyone know what 16s issue was in the first half I believe. He came off field or substituted (not injured). He was livid on sideline. As he got past coaches and beyond sidelines, he raised his hands up in disgust and walked all the way to other end of sideline well beyond offensive coaches.sy not been able to see this on TV. I get it if you are frustrated about getting touches with all the super seniors that decided to come back and not getting expected touches...so other than something like that, just curious if something else happened that I missed on the field?

On another note, this team appears to be "together". On some of possessions, I noticed some offensive players (after they got their test) actively getting into the defensive effort (starters). I really liked that. On defensive side, very impressive. First half, only TD Miami had was after the INT deep into our own territory. Very impressed.

On offensive side, I thought we did well considering the talent they have on defense overall. I realize that our QB may have missed some some throws, especially one to Sutton early in first half. That is football. You have to live with that. The miss on the long ball to Virgil down sideline is a lower percentage of completion throw no matter who you play, IMO, the primary reason he focused on Sutton for m what I could see in stands is that some of other receivers had issues getting space. Those DBs were good and had tight coverage Overall, I am very impressed with Brice.
I saw what you saw when #16 went to the sideline with smoke coming from his ears, steam coming from under his skull cap and perhaps word-smithing new curse words with every step. He was extremely unhappy about something. I dunno what set him off...

I see no disrespect for either. I see a rating supported by fact. Fact is a rated P5 should not struggle and come so very close to a loss to an unrated G5.

I like our chances too but I think the conference as a whole has taken a step back this year. Coastal is very good. UL is still good, but might have slipped from last season. Everyone else is average to downright putrid right now, and both teams from GA fall in that category.

Unless it's Notre Dame of course (still in the top 12), facts don't apply to them. LOL Anyway, like some have said polls are meaningless at this point in the season, give it another 5 or 6 weeks and things should iron out.

True. Very true. Too, it is the dream of most Catholic high school players to get to play at Notre Dame.

I'm not sure the SBC is greatly improved. I think the top 4 teams can play with anyone, but it goes downhill after that. We may very well see 4 teams go 6-2 or better and see the rest at/or below .500
