I have slept on it and just heard the post game show with some interviews from Clark and Nick Ross. He said they had a mini heart to heart & told the guys that if you don’t bleed black and gold, then don’t be here. This will be the turning point for his coaching career. Will he make the necessary adjustments or not? I hope he can.

Nick Ross made an interesting comment - “we got the talent. Talent is not the issue. We just have to have confidence and get off on third down” when asked about the secondary.

This could really unravel and turn ugly this year or the team will respond. Praying for a turnaround.

I just finished watching Thor: Love and Thunder. Christian Bale is great as the antagonist. And that is about it. The rest of the movie was less than average. I get where they are going with the set ups for future movies, but this was just hard to stay interested in with how terrible the writing is.

Speaking of terrible writing, Rings of Power is just pathetic. The writing is about CW DC show level of bad. They are butchering the timelines that Tolkien created and have just totally gone off the rails at this point making up all sorts of stuff to try and tell their version of his world. I despise that this will be what many younger generations get to see as Tolkien lore and Amazon will use their billions to make it so. Thankfully they can never get rid of Tolkien's original work or they probably would.

Andor is a series that is growing on me a bit even though the main character is such a huge han solo rip off. Truly, read the Han Solo trilogy to get the really story behind the rebellion. It also tells the true ways that han and chewie met and their dealings with the hutts and others as well as why he was on tattooine to begin with. But the andor series is pretty good. It's interesting to see what these mortals are doing in the universe of demi God force users.

You cray cray. Rings of Power is awesome. And the part in Thor where he gave the kids his power was lit.

Interesting, I’ve read the books and enjoy all the Easter Eggs and wondering if the stranger is Sauron or one of the blue wizards. Not sure if you’re aware, but Tolkien Estate did not allow use of Tolkiens other books, and only references from existing movies. So if it doesn’t follow the book timelines, it’s one Tolkien Estates

I’ve really enjoyed 2/3 of Rings of Power. But as soon as the Harfoots show up, I get my phone and check out. I don’t care about those goofy, moon faced, boring little weirdos. And they’re story line is so jarring when they switch to it. Like, here are two story lines about the fate of Middle Earth, the elves, and Numenor- oh now let’s spend 20 minutes watching these proto-hobbits goof around with a wizard guy for seemingly no reason. I haven’t watched this week’s episode. I hope that part get better.

Related- thoughts on House of the Dragon? To me, it seems like every episode is 50 minutes of boring, mostly pointless conversation, and then crazy stuff happens the last 10 minutes. I’m close to giving up to it because it just feels like cheap cliffhangers every episode.

The Harfoot leader, I think, is the one deceived by Sauron. Which makes me think the stranger is Sauron incarnate.

I'm tired of Clark clearly lying about injuries in his Monday press conferences and us as fans having no clue what running backs will play on Saturday until we see what number is out there.

I'm not one to defend him at all costs but I would not put that stuff out either to be honest. Why give the opponents that info to know who to expect? I would be very vague and never confirm an injury so everyone would find out on game day. What I am tired of is how injury prone our backs are. Either these talented backs are really soft and have a track mentality or something is going wrong to get them injured constantly.

I really believe Clark won't last until December of 2023 and if he loses 3 more this year, which we could, he won't make it to December of 2022. This is the type of loss that either causes this team to regroup and we have a strong November or they fall apart and we win 5-6 games and gets Clark fired. We will see what happens. I hope we turn it around because I love Shawn personally and don't want him gone but I love the program more and winning the right way is what matters most.

With all due respect Clark is not getting fired if we finish 6-6. Some of these takes are absurd and what does winning the right way even mean? By 40 points every game so we as fans don’t have to feel bad?

I mean with class, not cheating off the field, graduating players, and running a clean program overall.

Oh yeah. He is tight with all those 90s guys and long time App alumni. But hopefully everyone else realizes this program is bigger than all of these things. Heck if we nudged Moore out, we definitely can nudge others out.

One wonders how much of the struggle is the team not taking JMU or TXST seriously? App is the Super Bowl for most of our G5 counterparts/conference members and we can expect to get their very best.

Also, how many players went all-in on the A&M/Gameday hype? After escaping against Troy, getting punked by JMU and being absolutely humiliated by TXST yesterday...have those players been disabused of the notion that App can just show up and win games?

Some people here hate UNC, but you have to give it to Dean Smith: when this type of thing happened, he wouldn't hesitate to bench all the starters and put in the subs. Are we at that point?

We’ve lost what should’ve been an easy bowl win, lost to Louisiana twice… you can’t tell me shit doesn’t need to change.

Not trying to be combative, but how would him being more transparent about injuries help the team? At least in press conferences?

Wouldn’t it make sense for him to be purposely ambiguous to make it more difficult for the opposition to game plan?

Clearly the answer is that Shawn should be ambiguous in press conferences and then just post weekly in Yosef's Cabin the actual health of the players so only we know. Problem solved.

What is pitiful is that some believe that is what should happen.

I remember when in 2019, the defense gave up 41 points to UNCC and it was a calamity. I myself said Roof should be fired ASAP. The players even said Roof was trying to do some new defensive things that didn't work.

The next day, Drinkwitz moved Roof to the booth, made sure some defensive gameplan changes were made and refused to let the defensive coaches speak to the media that week (which I disagreed with). The App defense has had two games worse than that UNCC game in the last seven played and a general issue with any team that has a QB who can throw the ball decently. Not to mention a putrid third down defense.

I think there needs to be serious changes with the defensive staff ASAP.

This lukewarm take is being vilkified on here and by the old heads on twitter.

In my opinion a change in DC is just the start.

As has been mentioned on here before that is very difficult to do since he is dating the daughter of a booster that is so important that he stands on the sideline at every single game, both on the road and home. I literally saw her father standing on the sideline at least a dozen times on TV in this loss. Of course he has enough money if he really loves App he would pay him 150k to sit home and not be our DC but you know that won't happen. lol

Why was Dale Jones moved from defensive coordinator in 2010-2012 to just defensive line coach in 2013?

He was trying to implement the current defense with 4-3 guys and our fan base didn't give him enough time to make the change. He was retained and moved positions because he was on a multi year contract.
