Never let a game, especially a college game come down to the kicker. Perhaps you keep killing a team with what has worked all day. We bring in extra tight ends and telegraph up the guy runs. While Chase is slow he had several QB options back to the right that had nothing but green grass.

At least hats off to the Stink. Was a very chippy game but they didn't play like a bunch of thugs like in years past. Kind of missing the triple option right about now though.

That Stink roster was awful. Give Clay Helton some time. Southern will be good next year and probably 11-1 in 2024. We’ve switched places. We are where Southern was when they hired Tyson Summers. So it goes.

I, and others on this board, were critiquing Clark’s chicken shit football in 2020. It hasn’t changed. That’s why he gets pantsed by Napier, Chadwell, and now Helton. Those dudes don’t play scared. Scared money don’t make money (though Clark is gonna get a million dollars when he is fired at the end of next season, so…)

Well, when SC was hired my words were “the last time we hired a coach based on who the players wanted we got Capel”. I was open minded and mildly optimistic and will continue to be if he’s our guy for now, but it’s a struggle.

Yep, the words, “players coach” scare me.

That phrase never made sense. Do players want a coach who takes it easy on them, doesn't yank guys who commit stupid penalties, does dumb running back rotations to keep everyone happy, stubbornly runs plays into the teeth of a defense? Yep probably. How about hiring a coach who won't stand on the sideline with a lost look on his face and will get fired up aside from the beginning of the 4th quarter?

Twice, in both halves, we needed to get a yard, and couldn't do it.
Doesn't matter what the heck is called, you go get a freaking yard. If you can't get 1 single yard when you need to, no one deserves to win. Don't care who the coaches are.

We had so many chances to win this game and in the end, we failed to execute when we really needed to. An inability to get short yardage on 4 key plays, two turnovers got us 3 points, and a missed FG. Let's not even talk about the defense.

Virtually all of our WRs are freshman and sophomores. Nearly every 2022 preview I read about us had WRs as an area we would be “weaker” in. Just means we will be absolutely stacked there next season.
