$3m
That’s gotta be close to the top at sbc/g5
I’m really not sure and don’t have any data. I would say it has to be near the top for the SBC for sure. I believe under Clark it was around $1.5-$2m. So the belief by some that we are strapped for cash is not always true. There are investments being made to change things.
So are you saying that we had an extra $1 to $1.5 million available all along for coaches that could have been used to help the former staff and we didn’t allow them to use it?
No. I believe the three main reasons are:
1. The powers that be are realizing we can no longer scrap by and are willing to spend more when they weren’t before because they hadn’t experience much losing. I think this is the biggest reason.
2. We have a HC who is aware of the financial obligations needed to compete at the next level.
3. We have a HC who can sell his vision well enough to get money flowing.
So what you are saying is that my original comment about resources being an issue was real and not the “excuse” that you and others wanted to call it. Thanks for confirming my statement.

I’m not trying to pick a fight, but if resources were an issue, then they still would be. It seems that we found them now, so it really was an excuse before.

Don’t underestimate our resources just yet. Assistant salary pool is going up significantly and financial investments are being made for the first time in the FBS level.
Do we know how much the assistant pool of cash is going up or are we just hoping?

Per university athletics financial statements, FY23 Football Assistants were paid $2.69M.

Maybe if you stayed away from thirst traps on the internet, you would have better comprehension skills. I didn’t confirm a thing.

Complaining about resources when our asses are getting kicked by 30-40 points during the season like you did is an excuse.

It’s also an excuse when the money is there but the HC does not have the capability to get it because he can’t sell a vision and is stuck in an FCS mindset.

I comprehend just fine. You stated that the salary pool under SC was $1 to $1.5 million less than what you stated where available to CDL staff. While that was proven to be inaccurate, it was the point of my comment to you. Resources, or a lack there of, were a big reason why Satt left. Resources aren’t a reactive fix. You have what you have to spend. I’m rooting for CDL to be successful. I am. But he lost his DC to a G5 team that is paying him more than we are paying CDL.

It’s OK though. I’m sure that all of you that want to accuse me of being bias or having connections to the former staff will turn on CDL if he doesn’t meet your expectations. Stay salty my man.

“Will turn on CDL if he doesn’t meet your expectations”. You still don’t get it. I don’t expect you ever will. Clark wasn’t meeting the standard that he himself set. Nobody turned on him. People got tired of losing.

Dowell is ready to take this program to new heights. It sucks your guy couldn’t do that and I know you are secretly rooting for failure so you can be the first to gloat. The facts are that Shawn Clark was a failure. Sorry. It’s okay though. Dowell is here to save the day.

He wants to take it to new heights and I hope he does. He certainly is not ready to take it there yet. Shawn did not live up to his or our expectations but he certainly was not a failure.

Bless your heart. It’s funny how everyone outside of this little enclave of App football fandom can look at what has been done over the last five years and see what you can’t. I hope Dowell can accomplish all that you hope for. I’m sure it will make your shower time more enjoyable. I’m sure that you are secretly wanting him to fail just so you can come on here and hope of all hope that I say “I told you so” just for no other reason then you can pile on me and then go soothe your ego. It is far more likely that you will turn on him before I do because I won’t. He is the coach and I support the coach. That’s what you don’t understand and likely never will.

Bless your heart little man. I never turned on Clark to begin with. The guy wasn’t getting it done and we needed a new direction. That’s not “turning” on someone.

By the way, My shower time is quite enjoyable as is actually. Mostly because I have a real woman and don’t have to go on twitter looking for attention. How much do those women cost you every month?

It took 7 days to hire CDL -- he's been the coach for 14 days and hasn't made a significant hire yet...........

DG got sold a bill of goods and this is the first sign of that, not having a real staff ready to rock in roll.

Sorry your friend couldn’t get it done and got fired for it. He got himself a nice gig and will be quite alright.

Win or get out.
Cool bro. Shawn isn’t a friend. Merry Christmas.

It took 7 days to hire CDL -- he's been the coach for 14 days and hasn't made a significant hire yet...........

DG got sold a bill of goods and this is the first sign of that, not having a real staff ready to rock in roll.
Yeah I'm not ready to agree with you but I am getting there...

Of course some hires may be coming from CFP teams so if we don't see much movement by the end of the week I'm going to call a spade a spade.

Not exactly. I don’t know names but I am told that DL has most of staff filled out. Several can’t be announced because they are going to coach one last game for their current team. He is doing a good job of retaining players overall.

Got to relax and be a little patient. No regret on this hire yet. We are a bit of a rebuild now so we have to give him a little time. You seem to be pulling against them and that only hurts our program. A true App fan should be pulling for DL because if he fails our program fails.

I want him to succeed absolutly, but these two things bother me. If he has his staff but they are going to coach one more game, I hope that is something they cannot legally get out of. I hope this is where they want to be right this minute, but it is impossible. Second, I am way more worried about working the portal because I am consistent with thinking we don’t have the horses to run this race.

Great...Come January 2nd if we still don't have at least 1 Coordinator announced then I'll be in Denvers camp and I don't think y'all can dissuade me...

It's one thing to keep things quiet but in the world of CFB nothing is a secret for long so in this case no news is actually bad news by that point.

If we weren’t further along than we see, I highly doubt that we would’ve retained all the players we have.
