The only thing I’ll add is Dubinion was oftentimes the only guy out there on offense playing with any heart on an otherwise charmin soft offense.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2026 5:57 amI am wondering if these guys will get any NIL, a scholarship, or end up at a small school because of the timing. Rashod and Ethan were so bad during the fall and at pro day that they did not even get a tryout so I can understand why they want to attempt this. They know it is their last chance to play football again.

Oh he played hard. I appreciate his effort for sure. My point is that we are full and his talent is not the type that I would ask boosters to give towards covering him as a walk-on.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2026 4:40 pmThe only thing I’ll add is Dubinion was oftentimes the only guy out there on offense playing with any heart on an otherwise charmin soft offense.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2026 5:57 amI am wondering if these guys will get any NIL, a scholarship, or end up at a small school because of the timing. I will take a guy with heart, has over 1,000 all purpose yards and a good teammate if there is a spot on the roster. Only an idiot wouldn't do that...

Wrong place but I’m almost positive Justin Abson entered the portal after the Pavia ruling after finishing his 4th season in college at Georgia. Think he’s playing in Europe but sounds like he is one that could go back to college and play for a different team.T-Dog wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2026 3:32 pmThe judge in the Class of 2022 case has clarified, saying only players who were already in the portal during the portal period can transfer.
So most 2022 players, who didnt go into the portal because they were done, have to go back to their team if there is room.

You never know, he may want to stay in Europe because they allow their players legit fringe benefits…like being able to smoke on the bench.311neers wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2026 6:38 pmWrong place but I’m almost positive Justin Abson entered the portal after the Pavia ruling after finishing his 4th season in college at Georgia. Re: Roster/Staff Updates
On paper I 100% agree with you but a coach considers more than stats. They are good locker room guys but how would the players on the team feel about more bodies in their room? Players have an idea of where they sit on depth chart. I think there would be pressure to start Rashod but I think Lewis is better and it is his time now. I also think Loggains would want to be faster in their spots than they were.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2026 6:08 pmI will take a guy with heart, has over 1,000 all purpose yards and a good teammate if there is a spot on the roster. I bet Loggains is happy that he is full and you should be glad as well because If we were in position to need them that is not a good sign for the current roster. I bet he would take them if they want to walk-on without any financial help but will they be willing to do so?

Dude, I do not need your man-plaining. That is for a coach to decide. What puts App in the best position to win now. Period. In today's world, coaches playbook is year by year as half the team is new every year. There is zero pressure on a coach to start a particular guy. This is not NFL where we just signed a guy to a $100 million contract. Good grief..That is made up notion in a coaches weak mental make-up. The primary responsibility of a coach is to win now. In particular to 7, where else is he going to go? He was gone and maybe he wants to come back. If roster spot. Decision for coach to make. This is a big boy world and things are fluid. If the other players do not like it and/or do not want competition, App St. is probably not the best place for them.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2026 5:58 amOn paper I 100% agree with you but a coach considers more than stats. Re: Roster/Staff Updates
The idea that we are so loaded coming off a pretty awful season is funny. Ok we are always trying to field the best roster we can but Dubinion was hand picked by Loggains. I’m not saying anything more than I don’t know if we are quite at a place where we have the luxury of running off all conference players. We aren’t Ohio stateBambooRdApp wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2026 7:17 amDude, I do not need your man-plaining. That is for a coach to decide. What puts App in the best position to win now. Period. Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Of course it does not matter what any of us think. Loggains is paid to make those decisions. The only reason I said there might be pressure is that both players really wanted the NFL and likely view this as a second chance for it. They aren't coming back to sit the bench if they do.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2026 7:17 amDude, I do not need your man-plaining. That is for a coach to decide. Things are fluid but my point is this ruling was so late and I just don't see a lot of chances out there. I believe we are full at 85 and they can't enter the portal now, according to the judge, so their careers might be done by default. I am surprised the judge did not award a waiver to go over the 85. Maybe she will?

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
We don't know if we are loaded or not because there was so much turnover from last year. This team is not remotely like the 2025 team. I am just saying I am hoping we are in much better shape and not in need of more. We will know here in a few weeks.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2026 8:36 amThe idea that we are so loaded coming off a pretty awful season is funny.
