Kobani and Gilbert were injured. Toney and Scott were ready to come in, but feel victim to the infamous Capel 8-man rotation.

While it might show some that we are serious about the situation, it would also give a pause to coaches that would want the job that we are inpatient and that if they don't turn it around quickly they might get fired.

Saturday!
I like your optimism. I thought tonight would be the night. Our kids either can't or won't play defense; can't finish unguarded layups; can't shoot pull-up jump shots; can't run set plays; and can't manage the game clock.

Capel played with an eight man rotation. Where were Kobani, Gilbert, Scott and Toney? All DNP.

Attendance: 702...fans are voting from afar.
Our plan is to be up there for next thrusday's game....would love to find you and just say hey!

That was probably the worst DI basketball game I've ever watched. It is just pathetic how far our basketball team has fallen.

Say what? Any coach with half a brain understands the ramifications of taking over a championship program, with the working parts in place, and reducing it to one of the ten worst in DI in a little over two years. All Capel had to do was MAINTAIN what was handed to him. What he has done is almost criminal. Impersonating a coach.

I lost count of the number of times we were beaten in transition. No excuse for that...none.

I was referring to the next coach. The current coach had very little pressure put on him. The next coach will have pressure but should be able to know that he has 3 or 4 years to show progress.

When have we ever been quick to fire a coach?

No coach would turn down the job because we fired him mid way through year 4. If it was year 1 then yea maybe so. Most coaches realize that having 0 D1 wins during your 4th year is completely unacceptable.

Yes. I think it shows the admin is serious about having a quality BB program. Gives some time for off the record conversations. At the same time does he get chance no. 5 if there is major turn around? I think it would have to be more than W L rest of the way. Very very unfortunate but we have to change something.

Fire Capel NOW. It is absolutely the right thing to do. I see NO downside in a mid-season firing, and some potential for a bit of an upside. It really is hard to believe how bad this team is, especially with what I think is fairly average talent. I honestly believe a random high-school coach could finish this season better than what we will see with Capel. Seriously.

If we could get Lavel Hall to come back and manage it till the end of the season I could see that working. But at this point it would need to be someone who is not on the current staff.

I know of 2 HS coaches within 15 miles of where I sit that we would not get beat back in transition more than the other team, and we would run an offensive scheme that lead to open shots, and lots of hustle! It would not take much to be better than we are......shoot you, me, and 66 might get more out of them than we are getting now!

If it was me, each player would have taken 1000 shots during the break and 1|3 of those would have been at the line.

At least public ally say Capel will not be back. Is stating the obvious. But we will lies this recruiting year anyway and get some coaches thinking.

Criminal and championship. I can't agree with that. There’s nothing criminal at all about a really bad year. Painful but not criminal. We are not on probation. We can turn it around in a year or two with the right coach and a key player addition. Kentucky does a complete rebuild of its roster every year. NC State did a complete rebuild this year. I’m not worried about the personnel.

As for championship, ASU is not a basketball power and has not consistently played or maintained championship level basketball – unless 2 lifetime trips to the NCAA tournament qualify.

ASU will change coaches at the end of the season. Personally, I hope Capel does finish the season. I don't want an assistant doing respectably and then getting the permanent HC position. Sadly, Capel’s career winning percentage is no worse than Cantwell’s.

My bigger concern is getting ASU fans to support the program. I recognize that you and some others do support the program. Unfortunately, ASU fans collectively don't support the program even in the isolated years that we win a high percentage of games. That needs to change as much as the coaching situation.

For some encouraging news, Kedrick Flomo scored 41 points tonight in a North Forsyth win.

Flomo is an excellent player. Great handles and can score in bunches. Biggest question is whether he will seek a release from his LOI if there is a coaching change as expected. If he doesn't, he is an immediate impact kind of prospect.
