Sun Belt to Discuss Our Membership March 9th

Despite the overall quality of the potential FCS move ups, the perception of the SBC would take a big hit with the addition of four FCSers.

Until the 4 FCSers starting whoopin some CUSA and BE behind.

Let's not get a head of ourselves.

From our perspective, it would be great to be joining with those other three. I didn't mean to imply it was bad. Just saying that outsiders will perceive it that way and there will likely be some grumbling within some SBC fanbases. It doesn't bother me, but there will likely be some blowback.

When folks jump on here and say we are "JV" does anyone think that will help that perception?

We passed the equipment truck on the way down to LSU so I am going to say yes to that.

I think that even the FBS titans use charter jets so the cost must be way out there. I believe that most NFL teams use charters as well.

Equipment truck goes to most games but I'm not sure about Montana.

While our administration has and remains very quiet on the subject matter, the only information we can gather is from what recruits/propspective players say through their twitter accounts. SMH

Take this for what it is (a rumor) but I just pulled this off the Sun Belt board. This is from an Arkansas State fan who is a frequent poster over there. A WKU fan posted later in the thread that he's heard the same thing. So many "for sure" rumors have been floated around the past few years that I'll believe it when I see a press conference but here it is:

WKU will be joining CUSA for the 2014 season. The Belt will be discussing the addition of App st and GSU along with the third addition being NMSU. This will put the conference back to 10/12 format.

The divisions would be for basketball and presumably Olympic sports as well. Football would not be split into divisions but would be 9 conference games and 3 OOC.

Just speculation but fun nonetheless. Personally, I would not mind that set-up with two teams in the division that are bus trips or possibly three with Troy, who is the same distance from Boone as Samford.

Love it. That would give me 3 road games within easy driving distance... Maybe 4. And to make up for losing the annual entertainment of whoopin' Western's butts, we'll have GA State, right here in my back yard. Let's do this!

Agreed. I think 'moving up' here simply means moving up from high school to college ball.

Maybe you guys are right... just trying to seek out information. I wish this whole thing were resolved sooner rather than later, but I guess we'll see. When/If the move actually happens, I'm wondering if we'll have anything left to talk about!
