We are going from all of them to some of them and next will be "well one of our goals is in front of us". I agree our main goal is still in our control but we have to play a lot better or that will be gone in 3 weeks.
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.
All of our goals are in front of us.

Re: All of our goals are in front of us.
I know many of you don't like to hear that quote, but honestly our goals are actually still in front of us so of course the coach is going to stress that. It is a loss to a west team, if we beat all the east teams then we own the tie breaker. So despite the pathetic showing last night, we can still win the east and play and win the title. I am as disgusted as anyone, but of course any coach is going to attempt to stay positive and claim all goals are still in front of us until they actually are not. It is classic coach speak and we will hear it until it just isn't a true statement.

Re: All of our goals are in front of us.
We can go around and around forever on whether the "all our goals" statement is literally true. (I say it is not.) I get that, to an extent, it's coachspeak.
When I really think about it, I think what bothers me is how matter-of-fact he sounds after a loss. Especially a truly awful loss, of which we've had a few in recent years.
Where's the line in the sand? Where's the fire? Where's that Tim Tebow-after-the-loss-to-Ole Miss resolve? The signal that this is not just a bad night and we'll get it corrected, but this is un-GD-acceptable and you have my word you won't see an App State team play like that again?

I need Clark to go Kirby Smart pre-game speech before the natty. If you haven’t seen or heard it (and don’t mind a lot of foul language) it’s worth a listen. Players feed off the coach, and if the coach is deer in headlights, no energy, the players probably will be as well.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 9:52 pmWe can go around and around forever on whether the "all our goals" statement is literally true. Thanks, but I’ll still have to lean to the Cocks vs. Beavers thread.
