Bear Bryant
This has nothing in particular about ASU football, but I thought this quote from a T-shirt worn by a young lady at a swim meet recently says a lot toward athletes in any sport today.
It's not the will to win that matters. Everyone has that. It's the will to prepare that matters.
Bear Bryant.

It is also the key to life. Home, business, school, everything we do is a result of how we prepare.NewApp wrote:This has nothing in particular about ASU football, but I thought this quote from a T-shirt worn by a young lady at a swim meet recently says a lot toward athletes in any sport today.

I'm a big Bear fan and love this quote. Swimmers have some pretty cool sayings.NewApp wrote:This has nothing in particular about ASU football, but I thought this quote from a T-shirt worn by a young lady at a swim meet recently says a lot toward athletes in any sport today.

Bear Bryant.
- When the going gets tough, the sprinters get out. (Distance swimmer's motto)
- The race is in the water; he can't beat you with his press clippings.
- He's only got two arms and two legs ... same as you. (often quoted by a coach of mine who only had one arm - lost the other in a skydiving accident)
If serving is beneath you, then leading is beyond you.

I don't know anything about that but I liked when the fans held up signs with either Go Forest or Stop on them.

This is my favorite quote. "A champion is one who gets up when he can't." Jack Dempsey
A CHAMPION IS SOMEONE WHO GETS UP WHEN HE CAN’T!

Re: Bear Bryant
True story, a cohort came up to me last year during our losing streak. He asked me if I knew that Bear Bryant was buried in Boone. I, of course, looked at him with a puzzled look. He told me that Bear Bryant was buried in Boone. I told him he was full of it. He said it was in his will. When he died, he wanted to be buried as far away from football as possible.
I got a good chuckle out of that one.

My favorite of all time was when John McKay was asked about his offenses execution and he replied , "I'm all for it."
